Prom For 7-Year-Olds In England?

iStockphoto

Those silly Brits love blaming things on Americans. And right now they’re wagging fingers about a particularly American tradition: prom. As a result of the “High School Musical” franchise, prom is sweeping across Britain. And it’s making its way to kids as young as seven. These elementary school kids are buying gowns and renting tuxes, and they’re showing up for the big fiesta in stretch limos, completely outdoing American school dances, which usually don’t start until middle school.

Celeb Guys Who Are Prettier Than You

Usually the words “pretty boy” are a homophobic slur for teen idol types (and presidential candidates), so the Taylor Hansons of the world usually don’t up to their pretty, pretty looks.

But The Tudors actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers set a new pretty boy-precedent, though, when he kept it real with the Daily Mail: “I’m a pretty boy.” The Mail asked him about how some historians are unhappy with his portrayal as a drop-dead sexy King Henry VIII, when actually, the king wasn’t such the looker. So Meyers pointed out, “The reality is that viewers don’t want to see an obese, red-haired guy on a TV series. I mean, I wouldn’t like to see somebody who looked like Henry when he was older having sex.”

Ouch, kinda harsh there, pretty boy, but we’ll let you pass ‘cause you’re so easy on the eyes. Let’s take a look at some other Details cover-worthy men who we’d let get away with bad behavior!

    Zac Efron Gets Footloose!

Zac Efron To Star In Footloose Remake

“High School Musical 3: Senior Year”, the last in the mega-popular series, just hit theaters this weekend, but its leading man, Zac Efron, really is graduating! Paramount plans on remaking “Footloose,” the classic ‘80s flick starring Kevin Bacon, and Efron is signed on to star as the rebellious toe tapper, Ren McCormack. That’s right, the singing and dancing dreamboat is going to shake his butt in another big musical about high schoolers.  Hmm, “Hairspray”, the “HSM” franchise, and now “Footloose”—the dude has got a niche! But even Kevin Bacon is sure Zac will attack the role and gave him his boogie blessing. In case you’re still hungry for some Bacon, check out the original bad boy strutting his stuff after the jump.
