Poll: Heidi Klum Vs. Aubrey O’Day, Who Has The Sexiest Cover?

Heidi Klum is featured on the March cover of German GQ wearing only nail polish and makeup. Aubrey O’Day, surprisingly, is fully clothed on Playboy‘s March cover, although her dress and heels are so close in color to her skin that she is meant to look naked. Who do you think has the sexier cover? Keep reading »

Britney Spears To Appear On Project Runway?

In case ya’ll missed it, Britney’s birthday was this week, and rumormongers duly noted that Heidi Klum showed up at Britney’s birthday bash. What does it all mean? It could be that Klum is courting the beweaved one for an appearance on an upcoming season of “Project Runway.” Which would certainly be, um, interesting. “‘Heidi’s smart: she knows that Britney can do wonders for a show’s ratings, there’s been a lot of drama at ‘Runway’ — it would be huge for her to get Britney,’” a source stated. On the other hand, Brit-Brit would certainly make for a unique fashion icon. Perhaps contestants could create fashions based on Brit’s many moods. Frap-toting, pink-wigged lunatic with a British accent. Bald-headed in a hoodie, armed with an umbrella. Postmodern school girl gone wild, redeconstructed. The possibilities are endless, really. Save Project Runway!

We love “Project Runway” like Anna Wintour loves wearing black shades at night. We just can’t live without it! As fierce fans, we’re already super nervous about the network switch. Who knows what Lifetime, home of sappy made-for-TV chick flicks, will do with our straight shootin’ Tim Gunn?! They’ve already got him shaking in his stylish boots over the relocation of production to LA for Season 6. As if that wasn’t bad enough, now there’s even more cause for concern due to another move: Heidi Klum says she’ll skedaddle out of America if John McCain wins the election. Oh no! We can’t let Heidi tell America, “Auf Wiedersehen!” [LA Times]

In case you don’t speak German, “wunderbar” means “wonderful.” It also happens to be the name of my very favorite candy bar. Keep reading »

    Project Runway: The Cop Out

Looks We Liked: Jerell’s Jewel Of A Dress; Leanne’s Soft Stunner

The designers had to create gowns inspired by photos taken at the New York Botanical Garden. There were a lot of tears on the runway this week, so I guess the producers decided to keep the drama flowing because the judges didn’t eliminate anyone this week. Instead, Heidi said the judges would wait until the collections were underway and would decide who goes to Bryant Park at that point. I didn’t think it was really a hard decision to make. They should have eliminated the designer that has only won one challenge on her own and who makes strikingly similar dresses each episode — Kenley! Keep reading »

Worst Moments Of The Boring Emmy Awards

The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards honored and celebrated the best of TV entertainment yesterday, but unfortunately the award ceremony itself was not entertaining. The award winners were either obvious and dull or unexpected and disappointing. And since most of the winners are from niche cable shows, the jokes didn’t tie the ceremony together. In case you missed the show last night or if you want to relive the horror, we’ve compiled a list of the worst moments after the jump. Keep reading »

Fashion Week: Models Who Do More

During Fashion Week it’s easy to forget some of the pretty ladies walking down the runway do more than just act as coat hangers for fabulously over-priced garments. That’s why our girls at Glam put together this list of models who do more.

The (oft over-used) term supermodel gets tossed around a lot. But whether or not these catwalk queens have been officially coined with that status, they’re all super in our eyes. Somewhere between strutting down the catwalk in New York and Paris, and shooting high-fashion spreads at some exotic locale in the South Pacific, these beauties have also found time to become social activists, authors, and aspiring actresses–proving that they’re much more than just a pretty face.

The Writer: Alek Wek — Discovered at an outdoor market in London, Alek Wek’s strikingly unconventional look can be found grazing the catwalks of leading designers across the globe. But what has remained undiscovered, is her unconventional upbringing in the south of Sudan. Published in 2007, Wek released the autobiography, Alek, which probes into those youthful years: the bold escape from a home torn by civil-war and ultimate climb to stardom.

Project Runway Designers Demonstrate Why More Clothes Aren’t Green

From left: Jerrell’s monstrosity; Why the heck did Joe cut a circle out of the front of his dress and put a crystal border around the hole?; Kelli had a vision for her dress — it just wasn’t a good one. [Photos: Bravo]

On last night’s episode of Project Runway (I’m sorry if you missed it because I told you it was on at 10pm, rather than 9pm — here’s the recap), the contestants had to create cocktail dresses out of eco-friendly fabrics selected by their models. For some reason, the silk/hemp blend that was popular with many of the models seems to come in just two colors, an ugly bronze and a slightly cheap-looking pale good. Apparently, it was very difficult to manipulate — I have never seen hemlines so crooked. Guest judge Natalie Portman was as ladylike as ever, always saying something good about the design before giving her criticisms, and in the end, Suede’s innovative criss-crossing of fabrics won her over. Heidi Klum even said she’s wear the dress if she were 10 years younger. Heidi, you don’t need to shave off 10 years to wear this dress.

The Ins And Outs Of Project Runway

While watching Project Runway‘s season premiere and the promo videos for tonight’s episode, we noticed that some of the contestants (and Heidi) have awesome personal style. Others, on the other hand, have questionable style. Now, this doesn’t mean the clothes they design are awful, but I think it does say something about a designer when he sports a rattail. After the jump, we judge Project Runway‘s style… Keep reading »
