How this baby hedgehog feels wrestling this t-shirt is pretty much exactly how I felt about this week. I just kept chewing and chewing and chewing and the t-shirt wouldn’t give. It’s been a crappy one but it’s almost over. In the end, the baby hedgehog prevails, I think. At least that’s the way I’m interpreting it. I don’t know. I’m gonna go pop a few Tylenol and watch this video again. That should do the trick. [Huffington Post]
Now in its ninth year, the Puppy Bowl is the soft cuddly alternative to the Super Bowl. And thank God. We wait in anticipation for the Bowl to begin each year, and enjoy the puppies frolicking and running around so much.
It’s not all fun and barks, either. “The puppy players viewed me more as fresh meat than a ref last year,” explains returning referee Dan Schachner. “It took a few hard-hitting plays for them to realize their overwhelming cuteness and basset hound eyes wouldn’t affect my judgment to fairly officiate this game.” (Animal Planet, if you ever need a new Puppy Bowl ref, let me know!)
This year, we’re excited to reveal that the Puppy Bowl will now include … drumroll please … hedgehog cheerleaders! And while we don’ have any photos of the ‘hogs in their outfits yet, I’ve created an artistic rendering of what they might look like, above. Now, don’t forget to watch Puppy Bowl IX on Animal Planet starting at 3 p.m. EST on Feb. 3, ya hear? [MNN]

This hedgehog looks hot in his red galoshes. But seriously, there was an article about how they are becoming an endangered species. Sadz. Especially because they look so darn cute in wellies. [The Daily Mail] Keep reading »

He is a baby hedgehog who was found injured in Ruislip, Middlesex, and was taken to the adorable-sounding St. Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital where an X-ray revealed he had broken his front leg and fractured both his rear legs. No one knows how Trifle got hurt, but isn’t he so cuuuuute in his teeny-tiny casts?! Trifle, I love you! Keep reading »
