“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” will hit theaters this Wednesday, July 15, and we can barely contain our excitement. We haven’t seen the film yet, but New York magazine reviewed it, saying some pretty nice things. One aspect that writer David Edelstein took issue with was how good-looking Emma Watson has become. While he says all three main protagonists have all grown up and matured, Edelstein doesn’t think Emma fits as Hermione anymore — she’s not nerdy and awkward enough. Keep reading »
“Harry Potter” actress Emma Watson, 19, is on the cover of Teen Vogue‘s August issue. She looks all grown up, posing in old school Britastic clothing in the English countryside. Despite being famous since she was 10, Emma isn’t really a limelight lover. She is going to college and plans to do it up normal-person style. She’s majoring in English and will even be living with roommates. We understood why she is not all about being famous after she said so many ‘razzi showed up to her 18th birthday that she couldn’t get out the door. She added, “They laid down on the pavement and took pictures up my skirt.” Ugh, talk about barely legal. Check out some other quotes, after the jump. [Teen Vogue] Keep reading »
Around The Frisky office, I get mocked for being mildly obsessed with Harry Potter. Sure, the series isn’t as sexy as vampire stories like “True Blood” or “Twilight,” but Harry’s glasses turn me on. Needless to say, I am excited to watch “Harry Potter the Musical,” a parody created by Potter fans, while I await the July 15 release of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” [via Flavorwire] Keep reading »
Last night I went and saw Katie Holmes in Arthur Miller’s play “All My Sons”. Now, originally I was going to compare Katie Holmes Broadway debut to Sarah Palin’s VP debate: As long as she didn’t run off the stage screaming, vomit, or totally blank on her lines, then it was a success. But then I realized, this was just too mean for the once lovable Joey Potter. Admit it, we all used to love Katie Holmes pre-Tom Cruise — before she became a robot and was renamed “Kate”.
Remember her on “Dawson’s Creek” as little Joey Potter who, both on-and-off- screen, dated the adorable, age-appropriate Pacey? Remember when she tried to seduce Michael Douglas in “Wonder Boys”, and we kinda wished he’d gone for her? Remember when she actually “acted” in “Pieces of April”, and came pretty darn close to pulling off quirky and deep? See! You used to like her! I did too! BUT, does this mean she belongs onstage opposite the fabulous Diane Wiest and legendary John Lithgow? Hell no, Xenu. But I’ll give her an A for effort. Keep reading »
For starters, you might not actually know much of anything about the model-turned-actor (turned musician!) who was once a Daily Hotness. First spotted as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies, the 22-year old is sure to be the next big thing thanks to the upcoming vampire movie “Twilight” (based on the series of novels by Stephanie Meyer), in which Pattinson plays lead vamp Edward Cullen. He’s been dubbed “the next Jude Law” by the British press, but what more is there to know about this hunk across the pond? Oh, so much. Keep reading »
Harry Potter isn’t afraid to put it all out there. Daniel Radcliffe, who starred as the magical teen titan Harry Potter, earlier this week admitted he has neurological disorder, dyspraxia, which affects his coordination. But he can still cast a spell on you! Just check out his pony play spread in the September issue of Vogue. He’s riding horses and they’re all bareback — giddy up! Although the weird fetal/grandpa shot creeps us out, we’ll blame it (like the Miley Cyrus photo controversy) on famous photographer Annie Leibovitz. Sure, he says he stripped down to promote the new Broadway play he’s horsing around in — Equus — but we’ll take any excuse to see this barely legal babe in the buff! [Trend Hunter] Keep reading »
