Hair Model Citizen: The Infinity Beard

We’ve been ogling the Infinity dress lately, and everyone loves a scarf version, but this guy has really and truly committed to the trend. But what we really wanna know is how this guy’s GF feels about this hairdo. (Eh, would it be too much of a stretch to assume he’s single?) How to get the look you ask? You’ll need a lot of time on your hands and some seriously trusty trimming equipment. [BuzzFeed] Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Ashley Greene Loses The Length

“New Moon” star Ashley Greene visited “The Late Show with David Letterman” yesterday wearing an awesome pinstripe suit and debuting a new haircut. Before, Ashley’s enviable mane was way past her shoulders. Hairstylist Ted Gibson shortened it so it hangs right below her shoulders, then he used a flatiron to make it sleek and added Tame It Lotion from his haircare line to smooth flyaways. Ashley’s new style reminds me of Dakota Fanning’s chic midi-bob. I wish my hair would hurry up and grow! Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Lily Allen’s Skunky Do

We’re not saying whether or not we’re wild about Lily Allen‘s new ‘do (we’ll leave that up to you), but she is definitely a Hair Model Citizen for busting out something, well, interesting. So she’s got the rock star platinum thing going on: really choppy, thick bangs and plenty of chunks of black. Now the only way to get this look–if you’re interested, that is–is to be prepared to do some serious damage to your hair. You’d have to bleach the whole thing and then separately dye the black, unless you already have black hair and you could just not dye a few strands. On second thought, we’d recommend leaving this look to Lily Allen. [Manchester, 11/17/09] Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Sophia Loren Knows What Works

Film and beauty icon Sophia Loren won’t go changin’: She’s currently promoting a new film, “Nine,” and stepped out looking fabulous today. We were most struck that despite the fact that she has not changed her hairstyle in a few decades, it’s still totally working out for her. Huh. To get the look, you’ll need to find a hairdresser who still knows what a “curl and set” means. (Good luck with that one.) Basically, it’s the practice of rolling up your entire head of hair in curlers and either sitting under a huge industrial-sized hairdryer or just sleeping in them (ouch!). We suspect it involves a lot of hairspray, too. Sounds like a job for L’Oreal Elnett! [NYC, 11/16/09] Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Dakota Fanning’s Midi-Bob

In Hollywood, a bob is a bob is a bob, which is why Dakota Fanning‘s ‘do in the new Teen Vogue gives us pause. Sure, we feel a little weird fawning over a teenager’s haircut, but this is a look that would work for any age. The key lies in the layers. There are none, see? It’s as if your typical blunt bob was grown out with just a hint of flip at the ends, and it looks sophisticated without being too precious. To get the look, print this pic out and take it to your hairstylist. Or just ask them to keep it mid-length, go easy on the layers, and blow it all out. For DIY-ers, apply Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum to damp hair. This cuts down on drying time, smooths, conditions and shines. [Teen Vogue] Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Doesn’t Your Cat Deserve A Wig Today?

This sweet puss is a Hair Model Citizen because she fearlessly dares to go where no cats that we know of have gone before. In fact, last time we tried to put a wig on our friend’s cat, let’s just say the outcome was anything but pretty. To get the look, you’ll need to click on over and order up this fetching shade of electric blue for a mere $50. Or, if you simply enjoy looking at photographs of cats wearing wigs (trust us, it’s much safer this way), you can purchase the new book based on this craze that’s sweeping the nation, called Glamourpuss: The Enchanting World Of Kitty Wigs. It’ll pretty much tell you everything you need to know. [Kitty Wigs] Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Cover Girl Perfection

Christ on a cracker, we don’t think we’ve seen more perfect hair ever. Some paparazzi yelled, “Hey Charlize, over here!” at the recent Hollywood Film Festival Awards, she snapped her head back, and boom, somebody could put this pic on a magazine cover. To get this look, you’ll need some seriously good genes, a killer set of baby blond highlights, and a conditioning treatment to make it look extra glossy and silky. Ask the colorist to use a balayage technique (that’s when they paint the highlights in) to get it looking extra natural and sun-kissed. If you’re just interested in the style, blow-dry, create an extra-deep side part, sweep to the side, and coat ends with just a dab of L’Oreal Studio Line Curl Smoothing Cream. Use a small-barrel curling iron to create individual curls, then use your fingers to separate them so they look wavy. God help you. [L.A., 10/26/09] Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Chic Hat Head

Actress Monet Mazur is today’s hair model citizen and here is why: There will be days, my loves, when your trusty tresses will, quite honestly, look like s**t. I know, I know, it’s so unfathomable, but true. Whether you have paparazzi following you around while you’re shopping or you’re simply afraid of running into a boyfriend, a bad hair day calls for a smart hat that helps you take back some control in an unpredictable world. To get the look: sweep hair back from your face; place beneath all-encompassing cap. Shew, that was a close one. [London, 10/22/09] Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Not Bad For A Pussycat Doll

I never thought I’d actually say this about a member of The Pussycat Dolls, but Kim Wyatt’s hair is looking kind of rad. The party in the front, business in back show is really working out for her. To get the look, you need some seriously strong hold and having bleached-to-death hair lends the perfect texture. Work a healthy dose of TIGI Catwalk Extra Strong Mousse into your hair, tease the front up to the heavens and comb the sides back. [Manchester, 10/19/09] Keep reading »

Hair Model Citizen: Where’s Ken Paves Now Beyotch?

Jessica Simpson is known for her talent golden locks. Her hairstylist, Ken Paves, is known for his talent ability to manipulate said golden locks into perfect, gleaming platinum curls and bows and whistles via irons and curlers and extensions and lots of hairspray. Today, Simpson, seen checking out of the Ritz-Carlton in Manhattan, looks like she got a much-needed makeunder or something. Welcome to a world where very tan, bleached-out men don’t follow you around with a hairbrush, darling! It’s so freeing, no? To get the look, do nothing. Don’t even brush your hair. Add sunnies. Viola! [NYC, 10/14/09] Keep reading »
