7 Reasons Bald Men Are Better

It may not be something that anyone wishes for, but for a lot of men (about 50 percent), hair loss is a reality. At first, it can be tragic, depressing, a horrible reminder of immortality, but once a guy realizes it’s just a fact of life, and learn to own it, they become even more of a catch than they ever thought possible. Bald Dudes Have It Easier These Days, According To The NY Times

Until scientists find an actual “cure” for baldness, dudes must choose from the following options: (a) ignoring it, (b) fighting it with hair plugs, weird creams, toupees, etc., or (c) just shaving their heads completely. A piece in today’s Times endorses the latter approach enthusiastically:

Shaving your balding head is like breaking up with someone before he or she can break up with you. Or like marching into your boss’s office and saying: “You can’t fire me. I quit.”

So, you men with thinning hairlines, seize your future! Or rather, seize your razor, march into the shower, and lather up! Don’t waste any time, because you’ve apparently got a lot of shopping and possibly some working out to do, too. Read more…

Rogaine Wants Prince William To Be A Spokesman. Mean!

Prince William is adorable. And still, it’s hard not to notice that his hair is thinning a tad on top, like his father’s before him. But it’s customary not to point things like this out—it’s the guy version of someone calling attention to your muffin top. Apparently, Rogaine doesn’t get this. They made a public statement this week about William’s hair. “We’ve been watching Prince William’s growing bald spot closely for years, and we believe Rogaine can help,” a company spokesperson said. “We’d love to send him our new Unscented Men’s Rogaine Foam. William would be the perfect spokesman for Rogaine because whether you’re a prince or an average Joe, hereditary hair loss affects one in four men.” Start holding your breath now, Rogaine. A Bald Head Makes A Great Canvas

Philip Levine started losing his hair about four years ago, and instead of covering up his baldness with a bad rug, he decided to embrace it by using his head as a canvas. And, unintentionally, he said he’s helped people suffering from cancer, alopecia, and other diseases that cause hair loss by inspiring them: “You can be empowered by painting your head … Even though you’re suffering, you can embrace your baldness.” The flowers that body artist Kat Sinclair paints on him in this video are tame compared to some of the other designs he’s worn, which you can see on his website, PhilSays.com. What would you think if your guy started sporting a painted scalp? [via NOTCOT] Keep reading »

Mind Of Man: Guys Have Insecurities, Just Like Women!

You’ll never see a dude turn to another dude and ask, “Do I look fat in these pants?” But that doesn’t mean men are invulnerable to insecurities, no matter how much we’d like to think so. Women are upfront about their fears, doubts, and self-esteem. I used to think it was just compulsive gabbiness, a quirk of the fairer sex. But, in fact, it is an admirable coping mechanism that’s even a little bit courageous. That said, I’ll sack up and admit that I’ve spent a lot of my life feeling like a fatty, a chubasaurus, half-man and half-marshmallow. Keep reading »

Prince William’s Thinning Hair Is Making Him Shy

Saturday is Prince William’s 26th birthday, and he is concerned about his thinning hair. One Mail on Sunday reporter said that part of the reason William has stopped going out so much is because he’s self-conscious about the back of his head. For his birthday, William will celebrate at Highgrove, the family estate, instead of going out on the town. Prince Charles is said to have given William the key to the extensive wine cellar, and William’s favorite drink, the “crack baby” will also be served. (Crack Babies are fresh passion fruit mixed with vodka and champagne and served in a little shot glass.) William, don’t worry about your thinning hair. As a prince, I’m sure people can overlook this, plus, you’re really tall. If you don’t stoop to other people’s level, no one will ever notice. Also, that beret-style hat is a good look for you.
