Move over Hailee Steinfeld, there’s a new face of Miu Miu, and it’s fellow actress Mia Wasikowska. Miss Mia is an ancient 22, compared to Hailee’s wee 14, but judging from the first campaign images coming out of Miu Miu, she’s more than up for the job. I’m really digging the glossy, studio-lit shots — mostly because they’re a great way to actually see the clothes — which are completely and utterly stunning, by the way. Anybody got a spare few thousand they’d like to give me to spend on Miu Miu? And check out another shot after the jump, where she bears a striking resemblance to Kate Moss. Hailee Steinfeld, Chloe Moretz & Elle Fanning Cry For “Love” Magazine

You guys already know how I feel about turning ultra young girls into supermodels. However, I’d be remiss in not letting you know about these three covers of the new issue of Love magazine, featuring Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, each cover features one of the girls in ethereal glowing light, crying. I suppose it has something to do with the heightened emotional state of teenage girldom or something. Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be cover models. Check out the two other covers after the jump.[MDX] Keep reading »

Hailee Steinfeld Doesn’t Think She’s Too Young For Miu Miu

“It’s kind of funny because when I was younger I did a lot of print and then I went more into acting so I had a little deja vu when I went back to it, doing the whole modeling thing again. I had such an amazing time filming especially working with Bruce Weber. … Honestly I think the best part about this collection and the campaign is the fact that it’s so sophisticated – it’s timeless. And I think for younger girls like me it works. It feels appropriate.”

Hailee Steinfeld’s The Newest Young Girl To Land A Major Fashion Campaign

Hailee Steinfeld is 14 years old. She starred in “True Grit” and she’s also now the face of Miu Miu’s newest series of ads. That’s great, I suppose, but SERIOUSLY WHY WHY WHY can’t we get some grown ass women starring in fashion ads? Style blog Fashionista lauds the campaign for its minimal use of makeup and Photoshopping. Well, you know, when you’re dealing with practically prepubescent skin, you’re not going to have that many problems, now are you? What’s next? Second grade Prada models? Toddler Thierry Mugler campaigns (somewhere in a marketing meeting someone is pitching this right now)? Miu Miu and the rest, start showing your clothes on real women — don’t condescend to us with teens, please. Keep reading »

9 Films Featuring Underage Nude Scenes

Hailee Steinfeld‘s appearance in “True Grit” earned her Hollywood’s respect. Her next role may earn her some controversy. In Julian Fellowes’ adaptation of “Romeo and Juliet,” Hailee will do a nude scene—unusual, since Hailee is only 14-years-old. The filmmaker says that his only intention in using a young actress is to stay true to Shakespeare’s original. “I wanted Hailee because she is the perfect age. Juliet is at that stage of … what you might call a child/woman. Just like Hailee herself is,” said Fellowes. “My version is a romantic story—one that keeps pretty true to Shakespeare but is, I hope, more accessible.” [Daily Mail UK]

Hailee Steinfeld To Be Sleeping Beauty

Fairy tales continue to be the new period pieces. In addition to dueling Snow White movies, it looks like there is now a race for a revisionist Sleeping Beauty flick. Today, it was announced that Hailee Steinfield of “True Grit” is attached to a Sleeping Beauty project. Oh, but it won’t be the standard take. In this version, Princess Aurora is stuck in a terrifying dream world she has to try to escape. In other words, it’ll take more that just a prince’s kiss to wake her. This movie sounds cool—kind of like the classic tale meets “Inception”—but I was already pumped for Disney’s “Maleficent,” which tells the Sleeping Beauty story from the eyes of the evil witch-turned-dragon. Plus, that one will most likely be directed by Tim Burton. What do you think—can the world handle two dark Sleeping Beauty retellings? [MTV] Keep reading »
