Gwyneth Paltrow Sings Joan Jett, Pens Deal For Album

Gwyneth Paltrow is returning to “Glee” and this time her character, substitute teacher Holly Holiday, is teaching sex ed. In this clip, she rocks black leather, does a chair dance, and strips down while singing Joan Jett’s “Do You Wanna Touch” for Will Schuester and the kids of New Directions. There, oh yeah.

At the same time, Gwyneth Paltrow: The Album is even closer to becoming a reality. Keep reading »

How Dare Gwyneth Paltrow Do Stevie Nicks!

Did Gwyneth Paltrow just go there? I can’t believe my ears. This is her version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” that will appear on her upcoming “Glee” episode. I’m all for the reprisal of Kelly Canter, but playing a country music star does not give her the right to try to play Stevie Nicks. My outrage-o-meter is blinking wildly. Maybe I’m just overreacting because Stevie is my spirit animal. What do you think of Gwyneth’s version of “Landslide”? [NY Mag] Keep reading »

Gwyneth Paltrow Returning To “Glee”

Woo-hoo! It looks like our favorite substitute teacher, Holly Holiday (played by Gwyneth Paltrow), is returning to McKinley High, and this time she’ll be teaching sex-ed. As predicted, it looks like Holly and Will Schuester will be hooking up this time around, much to Emma’s chagrin. “Maybe it’s time I learned a little bit about romance,” said Holly. “I happen to be an excellent educator,” he says before dipping her, as the two ballroom dance to Prince’s “Kiss.” Yes, please! Gwyneth Paltrow Has A Message For Her Haters

“Any time you do anything with any degree of sincerity, people make fun of you. That’s totally fine. I don’t care. I don’t read any of it. My thing with Goop has always been, if you don’t like it, then don’t log onto it. There were a couple of times when I thought, ‘I’m just gonna stop doing it. People are so mean to me. I don’t want to do it.’ But then I was like, ‘Who cares what some lame person out there says?’ I was in Italy once, and this old man came up to me and said, ‘I had the best time in Nashville because of Goop.’ And that is so worth it to me.”

Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t care about the haters, really she doesn’t! Look, I’m definitely one of the many people who, I suppose, is “mean” to Gwyneth. I like to think of it as tough criticism and underneath all the snark, there’s some valid criticism that I think it would behoove Paltrow to listen to. So, yes, it’s kind of mean to say that her Goop newsletter makes GP seem like a snotty, out-of-touch twat, but perhaps if I put it in kinder language, she’ll listen. Ahem… Keep reading »

Gwyneth And GOOP’s “Day In The Life” Of 3 Privileged Working Moms

For every step forward Gwyneth Paltrow makes in her attempt to improve her image, she takes two steps back. Though I was warming up to ol’ Goopie again, after that adorable and funny guest appearance on “Glee,” I am back to full GP attack mode thanks to her latest GOOP newsletter. I skipped last week’s GOOP once I realized it was just another endorsement of a cleanse that makes you s**t your brains out, but this week I was enticed to click with the promise of “a day in the life of real working moms.” I’m not a mom, but I want to be and that work/life/parenting balance is of interest to me. Who would these real working moms be? How varied would their advice and routines be? Sigh. I should have known better. GOOP showed me a day in the life of, ahem, a venture capitalist Gwynnie met, bestie Stella McCartney, and Gwyneth herself. Girl couldn’t trot out a poor or even a middle class mom? I know she’s got a cleaning lady! Keep reading »

Gwyneth Paltrow Loved Kissing Tom Cruise

“I did a little cameo once at the beginning of ‘Austin Powers 3,’ I think it was, and I got to make out with Tom Cruise. He was an amazing kisser!”

Gwyneth Paltrow tells Rachael Ray about the best kisser she’s encountered in her years of making out with famous guys onscreen. I bet Joseph Fiennes is crying over this news. Maybe he can practice before “Shakespeare in Love 2“? [People] Keep reading »

Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About Postpartum Depression

“[After the birth of her son, Moses,] I felt like a zombie. I couldn’t access my heart. I couldn’t access my emotions. I couldn’t connect. It was terrible, it was the exact opposite of what had happened when Apple was born. With her, I was on cloud nine. I couldn’t believe it wasn’t the same. I just thought it meant I was a terrible mother and a terrible person. About four months into it, Chris [Martin of Coldplay, her husband] came to me and said, ‘Something’s wrong. Something’s wrong. ‘I kept saying, ‘No, no, I’m fine.’ But Chris identified it, and that sort of burst the bubble … I thought postpartum depression meant you were sobbing every single day and incapable of looking after a child. But there are different shades of it and depths of it, which is why I think it’s so important for women to talk about it. It was a trying time. I felt like a failure.”

Gwyneth Paltrow opened up to Good Housekeeping about her bout with postpartum depression five years ago. Much like my own experience with depression, Gwynnie wasn’t a sobbing mess every day; instead, it just felt like the color was leeched out of her life. She’s super lucky her partner was able to identify her pain and support her recovery. I, for one, respect that she’s willing to follow in other actresses’ footsteps and talk publicly about it. Gwyneth Paltrow And Jimmy Fallon Go Back To The Early ’90s

Gwyneth Paltrow must have gotten the memo that America hates her because she’s been working overtime lately trying to seem down-to-earth, funny, and relatable. First she had a genuinely kick-ass guest appearance on “Glee”; then she confessed to being a lush; and last night on “Jimmy Fallon” she donned a hideous wig for a series of hilarious spoof music videos for a fake group called Shazzazz. Shazzazz, apparently, is an early ’90s R&B group dreamed up by Paltrow and Fallon the last time she was on his show. Last night, Shazzazz made its late-night TV debut, showcasing music videos for their songs “Let’s Do It” (above), “Do It Again,” and “We Did It.” Loving the Color Me Badd-inspired flip-up glasses, GOOP. Maybe you’re not so terrible after all. [via Just Jared] Keep reading »

Gwyneth Paltrow Got Advice From Robert Downey Jr. On Playing An Alcoholic

Gwyneth Paltrow says that learning to belt out twangy tunes for the movie “Country Strong” was a challenge. But the hardest part of her role as Kelly Canter, a country singer on the comeback trail after going to rehab, was learning to play an alcoholic. So how did Gwynnie do it? She consulted her good bud, Robert Downey Jr. “I just couldn’t understand how you could be so drunk that you could wreck people’s lives and then wake up the next day and pretend everything was fine. I struggled with that,” she said. “I asked Robert, ‘How does this work?’ He was really articulate about addiction and the psychology behind it. He really helped me a lot.” We hope she just asked him with choicer words than, “What was it like when you were a total f**k-up?” [Huffington Post]
