Gwyneth Paltrow Says You Can Stand Under Her Umbrella On “Glee”

Last night’s episode of “Glee” was super good. As in, Entertainment Weekly is already calling for Gwyneth Paltrow to win the Emmy for Best Guest Starring Role for her performance as substitute teacher Holly Holiday. And she was pretty darn great—how cool was it to see Gwynnie eat at Taco Bell and talk about her obsession with “Hoarders”? It’s like the Gwyneth we all wished existed in real life. Her crowning moment was a mashup of “Singin’ in the Rain” and Rihanna‘s “Umbrella” that she performed with New Directions while splashing through a water set. Above, watch Gwyneth stand under an umbrella-ella-ella with Mr. Schuester. Keep reading »

Gwyneth Paltrow Channels Cee-Lo On “Glee”

On Wednesday, Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her singing chops at the CMA Awards. And today, we have a sneak peek of her appearance on “Glee” next week. In the episode, she’ll be playing Holly Holiday, a substitute teacher filling in for Mr. Schuester. And in this clip, she dazzles New Directions with her rendition of Cee-Lo’s “F**k You,” only without the expletive, natch. We also know that she’ll be doing a mash-up of “Singin in the Rain” and Rihanna‘s “Umbrella.” [NYMag.com, Us Weekly] Keep reading »

Gwyneth Paltrow Shows Us Her Twang At The CMA Awards

I’m not sure what I was expecting, exactly, but last night’s CMA Awards were kinda snoozy. Miranda Lambert and Brad Paisley won lots of awards. Taylor Swift was her usual “aww shucks” self. And the camera kept pointing to Keith Urban with Nicole Kidman at his side. But there were two performances that stood out. First, Gwyneth Paltrow put down the goop and picked up a guitar to perform “Country Strong,” the title track from her upcoming movie of the same name. And she was surprisingly good—interesting, since we all know that singing in a movie often nets a star an Oscar. We’ll think of this as a warm-up for her appearance on “Glee,” when she’ll do a mash-up of “Singin’ in the Rain” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella.” Keep reading »

Matthew Morrison’s Gleeful For Gwyneth

“Dare I say I have a crush on Gwyneth Paltrow? She’s the most lovely … she’s not like a movie star. She’s just like a normal person.”

Gwyneth Paltrow Domesticated Jake Gyllenhaal

“Bottom line, she is not a mere mortal like the rest of us. She is an Internet-savvy, award-winning, lifestyle guru, making all of us look lazy. She doesn’t just find a nice guy to settle down with — she marries a rock star and then domesticates him. She doesn’t just cook — she goes to Spain with Mario Batali and then domesticates him! She is not just a lifestyle guru, but she invents a whole new fitness movement and then convinces me to try it, and I do it, and I am, therefore, domesticated … sweating my ass off in spandex, which is humbling and embarrassing.”

Jake Gyllenhaal singing the praises of his friend and former co-star (in “Proof”), Gwyneth Paltrow, at ELLE‘s 17th Annual Women In Hollywood Tribute. While we would be fine watching Jake sweat his ass off, we’re not as stoked watching him kiss ass. Bottom line: even if her hair’s shiny and she’s married to a rock star, Gwynnie’s feet touch ground and she’s still gonna die just like the rest of us mere mortals on planet Earth. Gwyneth Paltrow “Knew Better” Than To Lie On The Casting Couch

“Yup. When I was just starting out, someone suggested that we finish a meeting in the bedroom. I left. I was pretty shocked. I could see how someone who didn’t know better might worry, ‘My career will be ruined if I don’t give this guy a blow job!’”

– Gwyneth Paltrow reveals her experience with Hollywood’s notorious “casting couch” in the new issue of Elle. Maybe I’m biased because I cannot stand Goopie, but even this quote manages to sound snotty. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »

First Look: Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Country Song”

The trailer for Gwyneth Paltrow’s country movie has arrived and, boy, is it hoping the success of Jeff Bridges and “Crazy Heart” will repeat itself. in “Country Strong,” Gwyneth plays Kelly, a successful country singer whose career went off the deep end when she became an alcoholic (sound familiar?). Now out of rehab, her husband/manager (played by Tim McGraw) is sending her on a comeback tour with a young country pop star played by Leighton Meester. There’s lots of tears and twang, people, but despite scenes of a drunk and sloppy Gwynnie, this movie looks like it lacks any real grit. Like a made-for-TV movie trying to play on the big screen. Besides, I am just not buying Gwyneth as a Southerner. She’s way too WASP-y. Keep reading »

Freak Out: Kate Moss To Star In Reality TV Show

Kate Moss, perhaps the most over-exposed yet somehow mysterious model of our time, is venturing into the realm of reality TV. Moss won’t be hosting her own show — the gods are not that kind — but she will be making a guest appearance on Great British Hairdresser, a show slated to be hosted by her friend, hair stylist James Brown. Though perhaps not the world’s most original concept, the celebrity guests stopping in should make it far and away cooler than most of the American hairdresser search incarnations. If Moss wasn’t enough to convince you to tune in, Gwyneth Paltrow and Liv Tyler will also make appearances. [Press Association]

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Country, Y’All!

Gwyneth Paltrow plays a country music singer in the upcoming film “Country Strong,” and, lucky us, she’s record the flick’s title song, which you can hear above. I have to say as a fan of country music, it ain’t bad, y’all. It doesn’t sound a thing like her! Gwynnie, of course, sang on film once before, in “Duets,” but this is much better. No clue, however, if the film is any good, but I guess we’ll find out. I am especially looking forward to the inevitable extra special GOOP newsletter, in which Gwyneth will opine on how kale smoothies are great for the vocal chords. Keep reading »
