I don’t feel like “Do Not Want” really even captures my gut-level reaction to these $455 jean shorts (jorts, if you’re nasty) for men. “Fuck no, stop triflin’” or “Get the fuck out of here with this nonsense” is more accurate. Jorts — that is, denim shorts that have been hemmed, not simply jeans that have been cut off (those are slightly more acceptable, in my opinion, but I’m willing to debate that) — are right up there with mandals and tucked-in shirts for biggest dude fashion vagina killers for me. Oh look, how coincidental, look at how Dolce & Gabbana decided to style their hideous and expensive jort travesty — with mandals and a tucked-in shirt! Everything about this is next level wrong. I’m appalled. [via Buzzfeed]
Track jackets are sporty. Leather jackets are dangerous. Yellowjackets are annoying. But a tweed jacket? Oh, a tweed jacket is the best jacket of all. Jackets and sport coats in tweed are intriguing–they’ve got a rich texture and a nice weight. Tweed has brilliant connotations: it is the preferred fabric of professors and writers. It adds an intelligent vibe to any outfit that you just don’t get from a slouchy hoodie. Whether worn with matching trousers or thrown over a plaid shirt and jeans, a tweed jacket looks mature, masculine, and put-together. Tweed is a classic fabric that feels thoroughly modern. And in case you couldn’t tell, we’re really excited to see this classic menswear piece make a comeback. [Slim Fit Tweed Jacket, $85, ASOS]
Behold the SMUT Maze t-shirt, brought to you by U.K designer, Sascha Quiambao. Based on a Pac-Man-esque design, the shirt shows a maze, at the center of which is a naked woman with spread legs (get it? Eat your way in…). Is the goal here to infuse the overly-done ’80s trend with a bit of cheekiness by adding sex? Or maybe this is a metaphor for the complexities of the female sexual psyche (highly doubtful). If a man hit on me in this shirt, I’d want to rip it off of him, and not in a good way.
