Everyone wants to surround themselves with rock star paraphernalia right now. Guitar Hero lets you pretend to rock out, there are two Beatles devoted games in the form of Rock Band and Monopoly, and Walmart even dressed up Mr. Potato Head as characters from the band KISS. Michael Jackson’s tribute, “This Is It,” is now open in theaters, and there’s an entire clothing line sold at Macy’s, J.C. Penney, Kohl’s and Target devoted to the pop star. The next best thing–and a more stylish option than cluttering up your house with figurines? Band T-shirts. But not just any band T-shirts. Those of the old sort are the most in demand, providing not only the cool factor, but a softness and worn in look that can only come with the vintage factor. If you’re in New York, head to Metropolis (43 Third Ave), Beacon’s Closet in Brooklyn (88 N. 11th St), and What Comes Around Goes Around (351 W. Broadway) or for online shopping, check out Monster Vintage, Cheap Jacks, or your local Craigslist. [WWD] Keep reading »
Our friends at Geekologie found this video of an amazing kid (we’re guessing he can’t be older than 13), who figured out how to solve a Rubik’s Cube while playing a wicked set of Guitar Hero. Says Geekologie, “Now I’m not sure where that’s gonna get him in life, but I’m guessing far. Far, far away from the ladies.”
America’s hottest athletes have recreated Tom Cruise’s infamous pants off dance off scerne in “Risky Business”. Okay, so I know the ménage typically comes in trois/three, and there are four players here. However, there were only three boys brave enough to really show some skin. Seriously, Kobe Bryant totally wussed out with those basketball shorts. But still, you had me at Tony Hawk riding in on a skateboard wearing nuthin’ but a helmet and a drum kit. And those boxer briefs really show off A-Rod’s awesome butt! I’d love to see the bonus footage from this shoot, if you know what I mean. [World of Wonder]

I was at a bar this weekend, hanging out with some friends, when a guy came over to me. He began by telling me he was thinking about opening a bar, then preceded to ask me tons of questions, like what I thought made a successful place and whether having Guitar Hero would be a draw. He kept pressing me to answer questions that seemed a little lame, considering they were all hypothetical and he was clearly not going to be opening a bar, um, ever. It felt like an inquisition and almost seemed like he was using a technique from a book he had read (ask her questions so she thinks you’re interested!). Anyway, we’d love to hear some stories about the worst techniques ever used on you, because they’re guaranteed to make us all laugh, and we all need a good laugh on Mondays.
