Last time we heard from little Danielynn, she was just Anna Nicole Smith’s toddler daughter in the middle of a crazy custody battle between two of Smith’s former lovers, Larry Birkhead (who won) and Howard K. Stern. Now six-year-old Danielynn Birkhead is following in her mom’s
heels footsteps modeling for Guess Kids as the face of their spring 2013 campaign. Cute kid. Here’s hoping she has a happier life than her mama did. [Fashionista]
This is Claudia Schiffer. At the age of 41, she’s reprising her famous role as Guess model and Hot Chick About Town. It’s not fair that Ms. Schiffer gets to look so good, is it? So we’re going to start a rumor that she siphons out her own blood and replaces it with the blood of children. So yes, that’s how that works.
Can’t tell, right? This is my beef! Seriously, the above ad for spring/summer 2010, could be from 1989, 1997, 2001, 2008, 2009 … or any point in the last two decades! Here’s the Guess photo shoot formula: boobalicious model + acid-washed or sand-blasted denim that’s way too tight + fake tan + oiled-up skin + some soft porn poses. It’s the same every single time! I need to get something off my chest. I hate this GUESS ad. I hate it because it features a rather attractive guy wearing what could only be described as a “denim duster coat” with bleach spots. It is perhaps the most hideous ensemble I have ever seen on a dude, like something out of Justin Timberlake’s closet circa 1998. Every time I see this ad — and I see it a lot because it is running in all the current fashion, women’s, and gossip magazines — I want to take my thumb and stab holes through the paper. Why is GUESS still around as a company? Who shops there? What man shops there? Can someone please tell me? Keep reading »
Her relationship with Kanye West, her blond baldie, that colorful lipstick: We all know Amber Rose for one thing or another. But it’s safe to say that what she’ll always be remembered for are her bold fashion choices. From stunning floor-length ball gowns to leopard-print leggings and grunge boots, there isn’t a look she hasn’t tried or mastered. Wondering how she keeps her style so effortlessly chic? During an interview with Rose at the opening of the Guess Store in New York City, Amber, who was decked out in Guess (of course!), waxed poetic about her outfit and made it clear that it’s not Kanye or a stylist who makes her look so good. Instead, as she confirms, “I do it myself!” (She’s not the only one: Zoe Kravitz and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are also rumored to be a handful of celebs who manage to look chic — or silly — without the aid of an overpriced stylist.) We like that. [The Blay Report] Keep reading »
This brand-spanking new military inspired denim jacket was custom made and photographed for the Guess Fall 2009 ad campaign, which you can see in stores and magazines now. What elevates this piece beyond your standard denim fare is all the amazing metal detail, including chains and antique buttons stamped with 1981, the year Guess was created. The picture of the jacket has been such a hit that Guess is making more to be sold in stores later this year, and will retail for $179 and be sold in stores nationwide. Since Beyonce loves her Balmain military jackets so much, we wonder if she’ll rip this more accessible design off for her Déreon juniors line? Keep reading »
