As I’ve mentioned before, there are very few moments in my life where I’m not wondering, Where the hell am I?┬áSo it was with great interest that I read about a pair of “No Place Like Home” GPS shoes that can guide you to any destination with a Dorothy-esque click of your heels. Creator Dominic Wilcox explains how the magical footwear work:

“After uploading your required destination to the shoes via a piece of custom-made mapping software and a USB cable, the GPS, which is embedded in the heel, is activated by a heel click. It then communicates to the wearer via a ring of LED lights to point in the required direction. The shoe with the GPS wirelessly communicates with the right shoe that has a progress bar of lights to show how close you are to the destination.”

Right now the shoes are just a prototype, but I need them to become a reality, like, now. In the meantime, I might have to DIY my own by duct taping my smart phone to the toe of my red sequin pumps. “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…” [Dominic Wilcox]
