The day you’ve all been waiting for is imminent: Anna Sui‘s “Gossip Girl”-inspired line for Target is available to the public this Sunday. We weaseled our way into a sneak preview this week though, and we’ve got the lowdown on how the collection looks in real life. As is to be expected, there are a handful of hits and a few definite misses.
We loved a bunch of the Blair-esque pieces with their sweet but restrained detailing. While Vanessa’s clothing group was mostly far too ’70s and polyester-y for us and Serena’s was rather cute, even if most of it didn’t look much like Serena’s style at all. (One Serena-inspired dress appeared to have teeth around the neck. We were scared.) Finally, the Jenny stuff ranged from adorable (like the dress at left) to tacky (check out the over-ripped, synthetic leggings after the jump and you’ll know what we’re talking about).

Many of us have long suspected that despite his womanizing ways, Chuck Bass may not actually be interested in the ladies. How many high school guys do you know (besides “NYC Prep” co-star PC) who can pull off a scarf? Well, Chuck at least tries men on for size in the upcoming season. According to EW.com’s Ausiello Files, several insiders have confirmed the cast is currently shooting an episode in which Ed Westwick kisses Neal Bledsoe, who is guest-starring as “Josh Ellis,” NYU’s head of freshman affairs. College is a time for experimentation, after all. [EW] Keep reading »
For those of you youngins out there, let me explain to you the rocking indie impact that the band Sonic Youth had on me my freshman year of high school when I first saw them play. The small room went wild as a bunch of dirty teens half-headbanged, half-moshed to their raw sound. When alternative music was a newborn, Sonic Youth was the band that first introduced me to the hardcore post-punk, pre-emo sound that shaped my musical taste and defined the angsty sound of my generation. That’s why I was so intrigued to hear that Sonic Youth would be performing an acoustic version of “Starpower,” a song they wrote in 1986, on the fifth episode of “Gossip Girl” this season! Under what circumstances will the band appear? “It’s a big event that involves [engaged adults] Rufus and Lily. Just draw your own conclusions,” says Stephanie Savage, “GG”‘s showrunner. While people have been gawking at the “Gossip Girl” crew that’s been filming all over Manhattan, some of the fans aren’t there to get a peek at their celeb crushes. This guy found his heart drawn towards an unknown girl wandering around the set. Hoping to find her, he posted in Craigslist‘s “Missed Connections.”
I am hoping to find the Gorgeous Tan Girl who was wearing White Pants and an Orange or Red Shirt and was with her 2 friends on 2nd Avenue right outside the Gossip Girl set that was filming. We made eye contact many times and I was hoping you would walk in the same direction as I walked but after turning around many times I finally lost you. If you happen to see this, please email me and let me know if you remember or know who I am or what I look like, etc.. I would love to be lucky enough to take you out for a drink.. Hope to find you…..
Interesting use of caps here! We hope that they find each other. And that they don’t have a relationship as complicated as Chuck and Blair’s. [Craigslist] Keep reading »
Joanna Garcia has Chace Crawford eating out of the palm of her hand as they film a scene for “Gossip Girl.” While she might be a little upset that “Privileged” got canceled, cozying up to Chace isn’t a bad gig. Keep reading »
In mid-August, I always start to get a little wistful about how summer is evaporating before my eyes. But then something happens to remind me of all that there is to look forward to in fall. Over the weekend, it was the September issue of Lucky
arriving in my mailbox, full of glorious fall clothes. And then today, the CW released a preview of season three of “Gossip Girl
.” Enjoy. Now we have to wait until September 14 to see the whole episode. Keep reading »
