Hilary Duff Is The Highlight Of “Gossip Girl”‘s Threesome

So the “Gossip Girl” threesome finally happened and, lemme tell ya, the triple kiss makeout sesh I had freshman year of college was more climactic. I didn’t watch the episode, but was sex just implied and the only thing viewers got to see of this three-way was a little smooching? The only reason, really, to click on that play button is to see Lizzie McGuire french a chick, seriously.

Parents Group Is In A Tizzy Over The “Gossip Girl” Threesome Episode

Parents Group Upset Over The Gossip Girl Threesome Episode

The Parents Television Council has asked CW affiliates not to air the much-anticipated threesome episode of “Gossip Girl” because airing the teen menage a trois would be “reckless and irresponsible,” said the group’s president Tim Winter in a statement Wednesday. The group says on its website that “the show conveys the message that sex is a tool used to manipulate people.” Although the promos for the “3SOME” don’t say who will be involved, some suspect that it will be the show’s top schemers, Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass, with another major character. The median viewer age is 27 years old, according to a CW spokesperson, a claim Winter said in his statement “doesn’t even pass the ‘laugh test.’” He said “Gossip Girl” is “expressly targeted to impressionable teenagers.”

Are You A Closeted Uggs Wearer?

leighton meester in uggs

Looks like someone has been dipping into the unflattering trend pool of yore. Leighton Meester was spotted on the set of “Gossip Girl” making a change from what appears to be the high heels of her costume to a pair of Uggs on her break. (Unless Blair has some scene where she’s trying to be ironic? Doubtful.) Seems everyone except for Jessica Simpson has put Uggs on the banned fashions list, and we know a lot of girls who wouldn’t be caught dead in the winter boots (we really would have thought Leighton would be in that group).

But, you gotta admit ... they are super warm and comfy. Like walking on clouds! So come clean—do you still have those pink Uggs circa 2003 in your closet? Break them out from time to time? [Um, yes, yes I do.—Editor] In public? Blair would never!

The Halloween Inspiration Board: Blair Waldorf

Blair Waldorf

Sure, Serena van der Woodsen is supposed to be the talk of the town, but we’re more interested in Blair Waldorf’s prep-school style. This costume has all the naughty school girl appeal with a touch of Upper East Side class. An added bonus? Each piece is really cute and completely re-wearable! Get the deets, after the jump.

Does “Gossip Girl” Make Anyone Else Nostalgic For The Good Old Days Of “The O.C.”?

I have a potentially major confession to make. While I find “Gossip Girl” entertaining and enjoy the mildly provocative characters—not to mention, Chuck Bass’ beautiful face—the show actually makes me sad. See, I worshiped its predecessor, “The O.C.” The California drama was a victorious, witty, fast-paced and semi-authentic (if not clusterf**ky) portrayal of teenage life at its most dramatic. Though they are essentially the same show set on opposite coasts, the differences are enough to make me scowl disdainfully every time I hear, “That’s one thing I’ll never tell, xoxo, Gossip Girl,” while the Phantom Planet-scribed theme song “California” always made me feel infinitely warm and fuzzy.

Chuck Bass’s Big Gay Kiss: A Video History Of Manly TV Makeout Sessions

Maybe it’s discriminatory to say, but there’s really nothing hotter than two guys making out. And last night marked the first glimpse into Chuck Bass‘s blooming bisexuality on “Gossip Girl”, which was brief but oh so beautiful. There have been shockingly few gay kisses on television, but we’ve rounded up the ones that made history.

How Sexy Is Too Sexy For A Formal Event?

Serena, Dorota and Blair at wedding

Gossip Girl” character Lily Bass got married for the ten millionth fictional time last night on the show and the wide assortment of wedding attire prompted us to pose the eternal question: How sexy is too sexy for a formal event? Unsurprisingly, Lily’s borderline slutty daughter, Serena, sat at the nearly inappropriate end of the spectrum in a strapless, boob-heavy number with a peek-a-boo skirt, while Dorota held it down on the matronly side. (That lady’s all class.) While we weren’t totally in love with the overdone embroidery on Blair’s dress, she has proven herself the queen of all things proper once again with a chic but still sexy wedding outfit. Nicely done, B.

Would you have worn Serena’s dress to your mother’s (50th) wedding?

Tyra Banks, Hilary Duff, And The 90 Bazillion Guest Stars On CW Shows

The CW has gone guest-star crazy! On last night’s episode of “Gossip Girl,” Hilary Duff and Tyra Banks both had major roles, and socialite/designer Tory Burch popped up in a cameo, as did Georgina Chapman, the designer for Marchesa. Hilary is Dan’s new love interest; she plays actress Olivia Burke who enrolls at NYU and becomes Vanessa’s roommate. She was reasonably decent, but since she’s sticking around for a few episodes, we certainly hope that they’ll upgrade her wardrobe from that ill-fitting t-shirt she donned for most of last night’s episode. We certainly don’t watch “Gossip Girl” for tees! The real story, however, was Tyra.

Remote Control: What You’ll Want To Watch This Week

Tyra Banks on

For the first time in a month, there are not a lot of series premieres happening this week. So, it’s time to sit back, relax, and watch the shows you already love. This week, Tyra Banks and Hilary Duff make cameos on “Gossip Girl,” Rachel Zoe has a “fashion orgasm” in Paris, Jim and Pam get hitched on “The Office,” “FlashForward” gets trippier, and Wanda Sykes makes you say hardy har har. Here’s the best of this week’s television.

“Gossip Girl” Goes To College Gracefully

There comes a time in every high school television show’s life when its mettle will be tested—when a chapter in its characters’ lives is closed and it is forced to plod a new path. Yes, that’s right, when the characters graduate from high school and move on to college. The transition to college has killed many a high school drama. It’s a big challenge to find a semi-realistic way for all of your main characters to end up in the same city, ideally on the same campus. For a “how not to” lesson, please see “Saved by the Bell: The College Years.” But there are other challenges too. How do these characters work when their parents are no longer authority figures? How do they function in a completely different environment? And as Stephanie Zacherek pointed out on Salon.com, it’s a problem that in high school the drama is external (clashes are between individuals and cliques who’ve known each other for years) while in college the drama is largely internal (about finding yourself), which, let’s face it, is boring to watch.

8 So-Called “Chivalrous” Moves That Creep Us Out

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley are definitely the cutest actors who’ve played a couple on TV that refuse to acknowledge they’re one in real life too. Luckily, “Gossip Girls” in training all around New York are constantly telling the tabs about their Blake/Penn sightings. Like last week, the two were spotted having brunch and smooching at Five Points restaurant. According to People, “The actor was very doting and even walked his girlfriend to the bathroom at the end of their meal. The two left the restaurant arm-in-arm.”

Um, back the truck up a second. He walked her to the bathroom? I’d never heard of this particular convention until last summer, when a date offered to do this. “Why would you walk me to the bathroom?” I asked. “Oh, I thought that was common courtesy,” he said. Sweet, but I’m a big girl. I can make it the 15 feet to the bathroom on my own. I’m not really interested in having you join me for the walk, unless you’re planning to join me in there for a quickie.

I’m all for opening doors and you giving me your jacket when I’m cold, but here are eight other supposedly gentlemanly moves we don’t understand. Though any effort is always appreciated, even if it’s a little weird.

Remote Control: “Gossip Girl!” “The Beautiful Life!” “Bored To Death!” And More Must-See TV

Gossip Girl Returns

While most of the major networks are waiting until late September to roll out their big gun shows, this week the CW is continuing their mission to permanently invade your brain by whipping out premiere after premiere. In addition to the launch of “The Beautiful Life” and the season three re-boot of “Gossip Girl,” they’ve already got us hooked on “Melrose Place” and “The Vampire Diaries.” Can’t they give us one night with out a trashtastically amazing show? Oh, but there’s some other good stuff out there this week, too. “Parks and Recreation” is back, and we think this season it will actually get funny. Joel McHale of “The Soup” finally gets his own series. And HBO has a new one for you starring (swoon) Jason Schwartzman.

Anna Sui For Target/Gossip Girl Is A Mixed (But Mostly Cute) Bag

The day you’ve all been waiting for is imminent: Anna Sui‘s “Gossip Girl”-inspired line for Target is available to the public this Sunday. We weaseled our way into a sneak preview this week though, and we’ve got the lowdown on how the collection looks in real life. As is to be expected, there are a handful of hits and a few definite misses.

We loved a bunch of the Blair-esque pieces with their sweet but restrained detailing. While Vanessa’s clothing group was mostly far too ‘70s and polyester-y for us and Serena’s was rather cute, even if most of it didn’t look much like Serena’s style at all. (One Serena-inspired dress appeared to have teeth around the neck. We were scared.) Finally, the Jenny stuff ranged from adorable (like the dress at left) to tacky (check out the over-ripped, synthetic leggings after the jump and you’ll know what we’re talking about).

More images and info after the jump.

Chuck Bass To Kiss A Man In Upcoming “Gossip Girl” Episode

Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf

Many of us have long suspected that despite his womanizing ways, Chuck Bass may not actually be interested in the ladies. How many high school guys do you know (besides “NYC Prep” co-star PC) who can pull off a scarf? Well, Chuck at least tries men on for size in the upcoming season. According to EW.com’s Ausiello Files, several insiders have confirmed the cast is currently shooting an episode in which Ed Westwick kisses Neal Bledsoe, who is guest-starring as “Josh Ellis,” NYU’s head of freshman affairs. College is a time for experimentation, after all. [EW]

Sonic Youth On Gossip Girl? Huh?

Sonic Youth on Gossip Girl

For those of you youngins out there, let me explain to you the rocking indie impact that the band Sonic Youth had on me my freshman year of high school when I first saw them play. The small room went wild as a bunch of dirty teens half-headbanged, half-moshed to their raw sound. When alternative music was a newborn, Sonic Youth was the band that first introduced me to the hardcore post-punk, pre-emo sound that shaped my musical taste and defined the angsty sound of my generation. That’s why I was so intrigued to hear that Sonic Youth would be performing an acoustic version of “Starpower,” a song they wrote in 1986, on the fifth episode of “Gossip Girl” this season! Under what circumstances will the band appear? “It’s a big event that involves [engaged adults] Rufus and Lily. Just draw your own conclusions,” says Stephanie Savage, “GG”‘s showrunner.
