Evening Quickies: Burger King Debuts Bacon Sundae

  • What obesity epidemic? On Thursday, Burger King will debut a 510-bacon sundae for its summertime menu. Did you know Burger King had a “summertime menu”? I didn’t either. This vanilla ice cream with fudge, caramel and bacon crumbles packs in 18 grams of fat and 61 grams of sugar. Did I mention there’s a piece of bacon sticking out of the sundae? It’s only available until September 3, so act fast before we eat them all. [Yahoo]

The CMT Awards come but once a year — a celebration of all things country music. We’re not particularly huge country music fans, but we can appreciate the way country music has veritably dominated pop music these days — that stuff is everywhere. And so it seems not that surprising to see mainstream stars like Jordin Sparks attending and Kristen Bell co-hosting the event. Carrie Underwood took home the award for Video of the Year — and also won kudos for her sparkly outfit. There seemed to be lots of champagne-colored frocks on the red carpet, which worked for some, and not so much for others. Take a look and let us know what you think in the comments.
