We’re not averse to taking an unpopular stand, so for better or worse, it falls to us to defend the most unlikely hero of all: Heidi Montag, a.k.a. “Mrs. Spencer Pratt,” a.k.a. “the girl from ‘The Hills’ who married the guy with the worst beard on the planet.” PopEater’s Oliver Miller takes up the gauntlet in honor of a recently sculpted and much-maligned Montag. Check out his logic … Keep reading »

“Good Morning America” has finally
come to their senses had a change of heart and realized booting boy-kisser Adam Lambert off their show while booking an appearance by girlfriend-beater Chris Brown wasn’t a smart move. After admitting they received tons of complaints for this switcheroo (including from Frisky readers!), this weekend ABC un-invited Brown from performing on “GMA.” Instead ABC will air an interview with Robin Roberts about Brown’s abusive relationship with Rihanna, which was allegedly taped this weekend. We’ll all be treated to this second helping of pseudo-apologetic Brown-hooey during the primetime program “20/20″ on December 11. Adam Lambert, on the other hand, is still persona non grata. Well this is lovely. Days after canceling Adam Lambert’s performance on “Good Morning America” — after the “American Idol” runner-up ZOMGkissedaboy! on the American Music Awards — ABC booked Chris Brown for an interview and performance on the morning show. Feel free to lose your s**t about the wiggity wack hypocrisy of this in the comments! [OK!] Keep reading »
As we mentioned yesterday, after his AMA performance in which he kissed a guy and simulated oral sex, Adam Lambert‘s performance on “Good Morning America” this morning was swiftly canceled. Instead, Lambert was interviewed on the CBS morning show, “The Early Show” (who scooped him up to perform after ABC gave him the boot) where he talked about the “double whammy” of being a gay man in show business. Lambert said that with his “background in theater,” he just got “carried away” with his sexually-explicit performance, but he didn’t feel he owed anyone an apology. “I’m a performer, not a babysitter,” Lambert said as he explained it was never his intention to offend anyone. Chris Brown‘s camp, i.e. minuscule people we’ve never heard of, like dancers and friends, have responded to Rihanna‘s interview on “Good Morning America” yesterday and today, and not surprisingly, they claim she’s to blame for the assault. They say she lied during the interview and was a different person and that this is a ploy for her to sell more albums. Check out the ridiculous claims after the jump. Keep reading »
On Thursday’s “Good Morning America” at 7 a.m., Rihanna will publicly break her silence and tell what went down in Chris Brown‘s Lamborghini the night he assaulted her. She’ll follow up that appearance with an interview on “20/20″ on Friday at 10 p.m. [Celeb Wohoo]
I wouldn’t get too excited about this interview because Rihanna probably won’t reveal much — she’s had nine months to perfect the PR coaching she was no doubt given. But, we’ll be watching anyway, to find out whether this was an isolated incident or if there was a pattern of physical or emotional abuse before the assault. Keep reading »
Model Crystal Renn appeared on “Good Morning America” this morning to promote her book, Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition, and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves. Crystal was discovered by a model scout as a teen in Clinton, MS, and was told she could be a supermodel. But there was a catch: She would need to lose 70 pounds off her 5’9″ frame first. She did and got a $250,000 contract.
But after starving herself for years, Crystal decided she didn’t want to abuse her body anymore and decided to let it be the way it wanted to be, which was a size 12. While this isn’t the usual size fashion models come in, Crystal says she has been more successful since being true to herself, appearing on the cover of four international editions of Vogue, in various ad campaigns, and on the runway for Vena Cava, Heatherette, and Jean-Paul Gaultier. We’re not models, but her message is one we should all heed: Be yourself and you’ll get farther in life. Aww … [GMA] Keep reading »
As every day goes by, we learn more absolutely terrifying details about Phillip Garrido, the man who kidnapped Jaycee Lee Dugard and held her for 18 years. The latest: Garrido’s first wife, Christine Murphy, did an interview with “Inside Edition” where she said Garrido beat her and kidnapped her when she tried to leave him; police think Garrido also may have been involved in the disappearance of another little girl in Lake Tahoe named Michaela Garecht who looked remarkably like Jaycee; and a bone fragment was found on his property that could be human.
Perhaps most disturbing was an interview on “Good Morning America” this morning with Katie Hall, whom Garrido kidnapped and raped in 1976. He was sentenced to 50 years for the crime, but only served 11. Keep reading »
