Maybe you haven’t seen “Black Swan” yet, but everyone by now knows that movie is CRAZY. True story: yesterday I saw “Black Swan” and as the credits were rolling, my mom goes, “Which one was Winona Ryder?” And I said, “The crazy one.” And then some random woman who overheard us added, “They were all crazy.” You know what else is crazy in that movie? The makeup. That’s why YouTube star GlowPinkStah has filmed herself doing a wacky-ass “Black Swan” makeup tutorial for Natalie Portman‘s signature look. But seriously, no one watches her videos to see her do makeup. Her ridiculously dry sense of humor and biting social commentary is worth the spoilers. “Avatar” Makeup Tutorial Will Make You Blue In The Face

Our favorite makeup tutorial vlogger, GlowPinkStah is back with a new look inspired by the hit movie “Avatar.” Naturally, the process starts with a blue base which, if you want it to be legit, “you’re going to have to bleach your skin and dye it blue.” Too extreme? A blue shadow will do the trick as long as you layer it on thick: “If you’re starting to look like a sea urchin, you know you’re doing it right.” Then comes gold eyeshadow, black stripes at your temples, and white dots, which are “basically the human equivalent to having really bad acne.” [YouTube] Keep reading »

YouTube Love: GlowPinkStah Makeup Tutorials

Meet YouTube star GlowPinkStah (whose real name is Gloria). The success of genuine video makeup lessons like those made by Michelle Phan has spawned a whole category of spoofs, but Gloria’s video makeup tutorials beat them all. And by “makeup tutorials” we mean she puts crazy-ass stuff all over her face, and manages to be hilarious and educational at the same time. In the video above, she guides us through the Japanese “Ganguro” look, starting with a dark foundation. “You want to make sure it gets all over your face so you don’t look stupid,” she says. Then comes huge white panda eyes and white lipstick. “I understand why they use the white … it gives you a sense of purity, like I feel like I’ve never had a penis stuck up my va-jay before.”
