Kings Of Leon And Others Who’ve Turned Down “Glee”

It feels like Ryan Murphy gets just about anything he wants for the ratings juggernaut that is “Glee.” Britney Spears is currently on set, posting about how “GLEEKERIFIC!!!” it is. And for the fall, the show also has guest spots lined up for heavy hitters like John Stamos and Jennifer Lopez. But, on occasion, people do turn the show down. Kings of Leon has just revealed that “Glee” requested to use one of their songs—I’m guessing “Use Somebody.” But the rockers said uh-uh. “We could have sold out so much more,” said bassist Jared Followill. “We turn stuff down constantly.” [EW]

After the jump, more folks who just said no to “Glee.” Keep reading »

It’s Britney And Brittany Against The Music On “Glee”

As Britney Spears keeps reminding us via Twitter, she is having a “GLEEKERIFIC!!!” time on the set of “Glee.” Yesterday, she posted this photo of her with Heather Morris, aka Cheerio Brittany, and it sure looks like they’re doing “Me Against The Music,” with BritBrit assuming Madonna’s role and Morris taking hers. “All my GLEEKERS in the crowd, Grab a partner take it down,” she captioned the pic. Radio Station Goes All “Glee” All the Time

British “Gleeks” are celebrating the creation of an all-”Glee” radio station. Oxford, U.K.’s “New Directions”-themed station only plays songs recorded by the cast of the hit Fox show. That means its musical roster is limited to around 180 tracks — of everything from Journey’s anthemic “Don’t Stop Believing” to Lady Gaga’s poppy “Alejandro.”

While that doesn’t seem like a lot of songs, keep in mind that the average radio station keeps around 150 songs in rotation at any given moment. Station managers are hoping to attract 30-something women with the “Glee”-ful programming. Now if only they could somehow send us Finn through the radio waves … [NY Post] Keep reading »

Quotable: Lea Michele On Her Ideal “Glee” Guest Star

“Justin Timberlake would be the perfect ‘Glee’ guest star: He sings, he dances, and he’s hilarious.”

– Lea Michele on who she’d like to see appear on “Glee.” I don’t watch the show, but I have to co-sign this. Given how hugely successful Justin has been as a “Saturday Night Live” host, I can only imagine what he’d do if he got to combine his sense of humor with his singing and dancing abilities at the same time. The world might implode. [via Just Jared] Keep reading »

“Glee” versus “Modern Family”: The Emmy Ad Showdown

Now, I love “Glee.” I also love “Modern Family.” So I’m kind of glad I am not part of the committee that’ll have to vote on which show wins the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy. Both shows have put together very funny ads in Hollywood Reporter. Keep reading »

Jane Lynch To Host “Saturday Night Live”

Facebook users are doing an awesome job of casting “Saturday Night Live” hosts. In the spring, a group was formed on the site angling for Betty White to host an episode, which she did in May. More recently, a group started to get Jane Lynch, aka Sue Sylvester of “Glee,” the gig. And lo and behold it worked. Shall we take bets on what color track suit she’ll be wearing when she hosts? 10 Things You Need To Know About Puck From “Glee,” Now That He’s Going Solo

Mark Salling should look familiar. He plays the dreamy, Sinatra-crooning bad boy Puck on “Glee.” He also is one of the first of the “Glee” gang to announce that he is releasing a solo album. Matthew Morrison, aka Mr. Schuester, has already started to work on his album this summer. But Salling seems like he’s been raring to go for a while now. His album, Pipe Dreams, will drop on October 12 and is a combination of Mark’s favorite music that he wrote over the past few years. [MSN]

Now that Salling is dedicated to bringing his sex appeal to the world beyond “Glee,” it’s time to get to know him a little better. Keep reading »

“Glee” Warm-Up: A Brief History Of Britney Spears’ Guest-Starring Roles

We’ve known for a while that “Glee” has a Britney Spears episode up its sleeve this fall. But Ryan Murphy has just confirmed that BritBrit will actually be in the episode as a guest star. He says that many of the Britney numbers will happen while the show’s characters are on happy gas at the dentist’s office. And as you’ll remember, the dentist—Emma’s new boyfriend—will be played by none other than John Stamos. Holy amazingness! Keep reading »

The 10 Television Guest Stars We Can’t Wait For This Fall

The end of summer is a very sad thing that I don’t even want to talk about because I can’t stand the thought of having to wait nine months before tank tops and beach naps again. But there is one silver lining: fall television. It’s when new shows launch and our faves return for another round. And this year, I can’t help but notice that a lot of shows have some very, very exciting guest stars lined up. After the jump, the ones I’m looking forward to the most.

A “Rocky Horror” Episode Of “Glee” Is In The Works

Glee” knows how to create a theme episode. First Madonna, then Lady Gaga, and now … “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Ryan Murphy revealed this little nugget along with a few more spoilers at Comic-Con this weekend. As a midnight screening attendee of the cult classic, I am expecting a whole lot of pizazz and even more leg from this episode. In my ideal world, this would mean a fishnet-wearing Puck as Dr. Frank-N-Furter and resident dolt Brittany as the first female Rocky. With this and a Britney Spears episode to look forward to, it’s already shaping up to be a great season. [NYMag.com] Keep reading »
