“Glee” Actress Admits To Getting Botox — Even Though She’s Only 18

Later this month, Filipino singer and actress Charice Pempengco will begin filming for “Glee” and she’s not just prepping for her role by memorizing lines. The 18-year-old admits she had Botox to make her “naturally round face” appear more narrow on TV. “All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure,” she told an interviewer. Somebody needs to tell Charice that “Glee” is a singing show, not a beauty contest. Unfortunately, it doesn’t surprise me that an 18-year-old thinks she needs Botox. Sometimes I think women use plastic surgery and injectables like Botox as a crutch even if they don’t “need” it, just because it makes them feel better. [AP] Keep reading »

Sue Sylvester Carved In Wax

Sometimes, Madame Tussauds picks totally wack celebrities to immortalize in wax. But this is one we approve of—Jane Lynch is getting her very own figurine as Sue Sylvester, everyone’s favorite character from “Glee.” See what the process of posing for one of these things is like (above). And mark your calenders—Jane’s statue makes its debut on August 4. [Oh No They Didn't] Keep reading »

The Britney Spears Episode Of “Glee” Is Actually Happening

During its first season, “Glee” dedicated episodes to Madonna and Lady Gaga and, hey, they were two of the funnest episodes so far. So Ryan Murphy is hoping to make mega-pop-star lightning strike again. After months of rumors, it is official: the gang will be doing a Britney Spears-themed episode. Personally, I think this is awesome. I would love to see Sue Sylvester take on “I’m a Slave 4 U,” or to see Rachel emote to either Finn or Jesse St. James that they’re “Toxic.” Not to mention that Britney herself could make a guest appearance. After all, her role on “How I Met Your Mother” as Abby, the receptionist in love with Ted, got huge ratings and essentially cleared the way for her “Circus” comeback.

But this has got me wondering — is “Glee” gonna ever give a male legend an episode’s worth of love? Wouldn’t a Prince, Lionel Richie, or David Bowie episode be amazing? Or they could even pick a classic band—might I suggest The Cure or The Clash? Who would you like to see get a full episode on “Glee”? Keep reading »

The 2010 Emmy Nominations Are In And It’s A Big Year For “Glee,” “Mad Men,” And Conan O’Brien

This morning, the Primetime Emmy nominations were announced and, as usual, there were few surprises. The Lead Actor in a Drama series category is especially competitive, in my TV-obsessed opinion, with “Mad Men”‘s Jon Hamm facing off against critical faves Hugh Laurie (“House”), Michael C. Hall (“Dexter”), and Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad,” my current favorite show) — Matthew Fox (“Lost”) scored his first nomination, as did Kyle Chandler (“Friday Night Lights”). I love me some Don Draper and Dexter Morgan, but I’m pulling for Cranston, who plays Walter White on “Breaking Bad,” but like I said, I have a meth-like addiction to that show. Not that I know what meth addiction is like. Keep reading »

“Glee” The Movie?

It looks like the gleeks of New Directions may be going in a new direction—toward the big screen. The word is that the entire cast is contractually obligated to appear in not one but three “Glee” flicks. But do we really want to see “Glee” on the big screen? It sounds like a potential disaster to me. Some things are just meant for TV and trying to fit them into a film format often turns out to be a mistake. (Hear us, “Sex and the City” and “Entourage?”) If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. “Glee” is not very-plot heavy to begin with. It’s the music that lets us ignore the gaping holes long enough to suspend our belief. What could the kids possibly get up to for two full hours that we haven’t already seen? So what do you think—yay or nay? [NY Post] Keep reading »

“Glee” Finale: 10 Things We Loved

Honestly, I thought last night’s “Glee” finale was pretty schmaltzy. It just didn’t serve up the pizazz and cliffhanger ending I’d expected. Instead, it offered extreme doses of sentimentality. I love me some bonding “Glee” kids, but I thought that all the intense camaraderie was a little forced. It felt like the last day of summer camp, not the final episode of the most buzzed-about show of the season. That being said, there were some definite magical moments that should last us until season two. And speaking of, it has already been announced that John Stamos will become a semi-permanent part of the cast, taking on the role of Emma’s new dentist boyfriend. This should mean some pretty epic dueling duets between Stamos and Mr. Shue for the heart of the doe-eyed counselor. Outside of this, not much is known about next season, except that it looks like we are going to be treated to another battle to take sectionals and regionals, as the club has to work its way up all over again. But that’s months away. So it’s time to focus on what we loved about yesterday’s send-off. Keep reading »

Ryan Murphy, Creator of “Glee,” If Only You Liked Girls

Dear Ryan Murphy,

I’ve been meaning to write this letter for a while now, and since tonight is the season finale of “Glee,” I thought it was finally appropriate. I think I’m in love with you. I know you’re gay, but I can’t stop myself from loving you and the shows you created. “Glee” is the guilty pleasure that brings me back to my own high school days. And did I forget to mention “Nip/Tuck“? Now “Eat, Pray, Love” is putting my feelings over the edge, Ry. Keep reading »

“Glee”‘s Bad Romance Is All About The DIY

Gaga fans and Gleeks alike had a minor freak-out session when this week’s episode aired, because, in addition to the brilliant vocal stylings of the cast, the wardrobe department went waaaay over-the-top amazing with the costumes. Given the mass amount of outfit options in Lady Gaga’s eccentric closet, the possibility of putting an actor in those insane McQueen heels seemed almost of the question. But Chris Colfer sacrificed his feet and ankles in the name of fashion and music and offered to wear those massive platforms. Unfortunately, it seems his 11-inch feet just wouldn’t squeeze into the originals, so the wardrobe team went DIY-happy instead. Keep reading »

10 Reasons We’re Super Excited For The Lady Gaga-Themed “Glee” Tonight!

No matter how crappy everything else is in life, “Glee” is a glowing beacon of joy. And tonight, they’re doing a Lady Gaga-themed show because they love us. And I guess because they love Lady Gaga, too. Here are 10 reasons we’re so excited. And maybe if you’re excited too, you can add your own reasons. Keep reading »
