With “Desperate Housewives” coming to a close this season, Sundays are desperately in need of a juicy nighttime soap to fill its Jimmy Choos. Luckily, “GCB” — which stands for “Good Christian Bitches,” and is based on the book of the same name — premieres this Sunday. “GCB” is about a former mean girl Amanda (played by Leslie Bibb) who moves back home to Dallas 18 years after high school and has to face her former classmates — including Carlene, played by Kristin Chenoweth — who are skeptical that she’s actually changed her ways. Have you ever come face to face with a mean girl from your past? I don’t know what I would say if I ever ran into Crystal, the girl who threatened to beat me up for no reason in 8th grade… [ABC]

The Dixie Chicks share their life stories through their songs. If you can’t get enough of these female phenoms and their music, you’re going to want to hear the inspirational tales behind their biggest hits on the new DVD “Dixie Chicks Storytellers” due out November 29. Recorded live in 2006 for VH1, their performance at the Los Angeles Theater was the grand finale in the whirlwind that surrounded the release of their album, Taking the Long Way. The DVD includes personal anecdotes and never before seen performances from the original broadcast.

Sigh. Seriously, I think the hardest part of my job is picking the winners for our various giveaways. You guys post such awesome answers, I end up having to seek second and third opinions on who should take home the booty. Last week, I asked you to tell me your ultimate summer beach bag essentials, and the commenter with the best/most creative answer would score a limited edition Hayden-Harnett scarf and an autographed copy of Brenda Novak’s Inside. All of your answers certainly gave me great ideas for what I should throw in my beach bag this weekend (it’s gonna be 80 degrees and sunny, holla!).
