Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin gives Tina Fey a run for her money, huh? March can’t come soon enough: That’s when HBO Films will debut the movie version of “Game Change” based on a bestselling nonfiction book about the 2008 election. This trailer makes it look as if the book is just about Palin and John McCain, when the actual book is about all the candidates. The trailer probably just focuses on Moore playing Palin because it’s been so talked about. I’m wondering how “Game Change” will handle the late Elizabeth Edwards, who is portrayed in the book as something of a ball-crushing she-beast, and Sleazy McSleazebag John Edwards who was diddling videographer Rielle Hunter on the campaign trailer. “It was hard—really, really hard … It’s hard to play someone who is very present in people’s minds, who’s on television, who’s very idiosyncratic, I did my best. We’ll see, I hope we pulled it off … [The accent took] practice, an incredible amount of practice. I had to listen to it over and over again. My son was embarrassed because [Palin's speeches were] all that was on my iPod. He said, ‘Where’s your music?’ I erased all my music.”

But a few years before, she was in line to play a different female figure in the race—Hillary Clinton. Apparently, Julianne was cast as Clinton in HBO’s “The Special Relationship.” But when she had to back out to film “The Kids Are All Right,” a movie which netted her a Golden Globe nod, the role went to Hope Davis. Julianne Moore will be playing Sarah Palin in ‘Game Change,’ an upcoming HBO movie about the 2008 election.

Palin stopped by “Hannity” (weekdays, 9 p.m. ET on Fox News) where she was asked what she thought of Moore portraying her.

“Well, I’m all about job creation, and I guess I could provide some of the gals who pretend like they’re me some job security,” Palin said. “I would ask, though, if they’re of the mind of spreading the wealth around that perhaps they could spring for one of my kids’ sets of braces or something, as they capitalize on pretending to be me.” Read more… Keep reading »
