Did you know that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime?
This astonishingly high statistic is one of the many things I learned about breast health at Planned Parenthood’s Breast Health Initiative briefing yesterday. Surrounded by some incredibly influential and inspirational women, including Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards and actress/activist Gabrielle Union, I was informed about the lives that screenings have already saved and the ways in which Planned Parenthood is expanding their services. Rihanna‘s video for “Man Down,” in which she plays a character who guns down her rapist, has been super controversial. I’ve seen so many opinions on it—from those who say violence is not condoned ever to those who sympathize with the plot. Today, actress Gabrielle Union weighed in on the video via Twitter. And she has an interesting perspective being that she is a rape survivor—when she was 19 and working at a shoe store, the store was robbed and she was attacked. Her attacker turned himself in and got 33 years in prison. Keep reading »
And I thought I had a lot of junk in my trunk. Horny dudes looking to see Gabrielle Union in a sexy lingerie shoot will get another thing altogether when Union reveals that she has more of a booty bubble than any of us ever will. I don’t want to give away the ending, but I will say that the surprise is about as sexy as Eva Mendes’ sex tape. Keep reading »
“My concern is about the effect of false allegations on the real victims of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault … false allegations make it difficult for the courts to determine what’s real and what’s not and it ties up valuable time, resources and energy that should be used towards protecting the REAL victims.”
– Gabrielle Union knows what it’s like to be the victim of real sexual assault because she was raped as a teen when she worked in a Payless Shoe Source. It’s no surprise she’s not taking these allegations lightly. Like I said yesterday, I don’t believe Gabrielle would engage in “sexual foreplay” or endanger the sons of her current boyfriend, Dwyane Wade, and his estranged wife, Siohvaughn Wade. Keep reading »
NBA superstar Dwyane Wade and his wife, Siohvaughn Wade, are in the midst of a nasty divorce because Dwyane was cheating with actress Gabrielle Union. Siohvaughn is one angry chick and is filing a lawsuit claiming that Union “engaged in sexual foreplay with Dwyane Wade” in front of the Wades’ two sons, ages 8 and 10. The lawsuit alleges that the affair caused one of the kids so much anxiety that he started losing his hair and is now getting court-ordered mental evaluations. Dwyane’s rep called these claims “baseless and meritless.”
I don’t know about you, but it sure seems to me that Siohvaughn is doing this just to give Union a hard time. And as it turns out, many states have legal means to get back at the other woman. Keep reading »
The estranged wife of NBA basketball player Dwyane Wade is suing his current girlfriend, actress Gabrielle Union, for emotional distress on behalf of the Wades’ sons. Siohvaughn Wade claims Gabrielle engaged in sexual foreplay with Dwyane in front of their 8-year-old and 2-year-old sons. Her $50,000 lawsuit, which was filed in Chicago, also claims that Dwyane formally introduced Gabrielle to their sons as his “girlfriend” and said “that is why your mom and I are going to divorce.” The suit says the oldest child has been treated for anxiety and stress, suffers from headaches, has developed nervous habits, and is so anxious his hair is balding in spots. In addition, the suit claims that Dwyane and Gabrielle have put the children in dangerous situations.
This suit sounds like the legal way of effing with the other woman. And I think Siohvaughn and Dwyane are to blame for how their sons are dealing with the end of their marriage. [Chicago Sun-Times] Keep reading »
