What Will You Bid On At The “Friday Night Lights” Auction?

It’s the final season of “Friday Night Lights.” Huge teardrop. If you would like an expensive reminder of your time with Coach, Riggins, Lyla, and the gang, check out NBC’s “Friday Night Lights” auction. The prop and costume closets have been raided for your pleasure. Bid on such items as Smash’s jersey ($157.50), Coach Taylor’s East Dillon Lions jacket ($405 — pictured above), Lyla Garrity’s shirt ($45), Tim Riggins’ hood ($430) and more. All proceeds will go toward funding sports programs for underprivileged youth. What a lovely idea. But if they really wanted to raise some money, they’d be auctioning off a vial of Riggins’ sperm. First Look: Adrianne Palicki As “Wonder Woman”

Dayum, Tyra Collette, err, I mean Adrianne Palicki (who played Tyra on “Friday Night Lights”) looks hawwwwwt. Something tells me this will totally make Landry Clark pop a boner. In fact, I bet he would write a Crucifictorious song about it. Ugh, sorry, can’t stop with the “FNL” references. I am obsessed. Anyway, what’s your first impression of Adrianne’s “Wonder Woman”? Crush Of The Day: Grey Damon Of “Friday Night Lights”

There are very few people I hate in this world, but the person who decided to give DirecTV first-run rights to the final season of “Friday Night Lights” is on my permanent s**t list. Knowing that there are people out there who have already seen how things end up for Coach and Tammy Taylor, Buddy Garrity, and, most importantly, Tim Riggins, before me keeps me awake at night. Or it used to. This weekend, I managed to hunt down the entirety of “FNL” season five on this great thing called THE INTERNET and promptly fell down a Dillon, Texas k-hole. I don’t want to give much of anything away (and urge “FNL” fans who do have DirectTV and have seen the show’s final season to do the same), but I will tell you that while I’m disappointed Riggins, so far (I just finished episode three), does not have much screen time, I am hot for a new member of the East Dillon Lions. Meet Grey Damon, ladies. Keep reading »

“Wonder Woman” Revealed: Who Is Adrianne Palicki?

We’ve been hearing about David E. Kelley’s reboot of “Wonder Woman” for months now, with the exception of one vital fact—who will be playing the all important title role. We suggested everyone from Katy Perry to Christina Hendricks, but it looks like Kelley had his eye on someone else—Adrianne Palicki of “Friday Night Lights.” Adrianne is supposedly the only actress he tested for the role, and we highly approve of this choice. Adrianne has the right dark hair/blue eyes look, and we have a feeling she can kick some serious butt. Plus, Lynda Carter agrees—shortly after the casting announcement was made, she tweeted, “Congratulations Adrianne!” [Huffington Post]

So what makes her so awesome? After the jump, everything you need to know about her. Keep reading »

Tear! The Series Finale Of “Friday Night Lights” Is Here. Kind Of.

So, this is kind of awkward. While I just excitedly heard the news that the fifth and final season of “Friday Night Lights” will be starting on NBC on April 15, and am still drooling over this 30-second promo video, anyone who has DirecTV witnessed the show’s season finale last night. Now, I had told myself that I was going to read the episode summaries and reviews of the show’s final episode this morning and write something about it today. But I just can’t bring myself to do it and ruin the whole season for myself. This was as far as I got—the first paragraph of The Daily Beast review, before the dreaded “spoiler alert” warning, which tells me that “the series finale gave its characters the happy endings—or new beginnings—that they so desperately deserved.” Does that mean that Tim Riggins packs up his truck and comes to meet me in New York? What Happened To Tim Riggins’ Hair?

Can we please have a moment of silence for Tim Riggins’ signature long locks? Super dreamy actor Taylor Kitsch — who plays the world’s hottest football player with a heart of gold on “Friday Night Lights” — appeared on “The Marilyn Denis Show” sporting a disturbingly cropped haircut. Look, he’s still beautiful, but I hope he donated those follicles to a museum. If not, he could put them in a baggy and mail ‘em to me and I’ll take care of it. Texas forever, man. The blog Your It List has asked a bunch of cool tastemaker types to reveal their favorite things of 2010. They didn’t ask us for ours, but we’re going to share ‘em anyway. You’ve read Julie’s, now here’s Amelia’s … Keep reading »

Connie Britton Sadsies About The End Of “Friday Night Lights”

connie britton

“I think I’m still in shock about it actually. We are used to going away for a long hiatus and then going back, so the fact we’re not going back has yet to sink in… The last three episodes especially are incredibly special. They are going to be extraordinary moments in television… The goal really was to give the audience a sense of where every character would be going. Not in an overly neat way, I think there will be a lot of questions left hanging but you will also see the next trajectory for each one of these characters. It’s that beautiful thing where on one hand, you’re saying goodbye, but on the other, you’re wondering where they’re going next. I think it’s quite perfect.”

—Connie Britton, aka Tami Taylor on “Friday Night Light,” talks about the final season of the show. Lucky folks with DirecTV got to watch the first episode last night. The rest of us will have to wait until the spring, when NBC will air it. Which is obviously purely evil. [NY Post] Keep reading »

“Friday Night Lights: The Final Season” Preview Makes Us Teary

I’d like to talk about the injustice of this world. The preview for “Friday Night Lights” season five, is out and, as expected, it is gorgeously shot and the show’s stars all look stunning—from Tammy Taylor to my new fave character, Vince. But where is Tim Riggins?!?!? Please tell me that Taylor Kitsch has not flown the coop for this season, like Minka Kelly and Adrienne Palicki before him, because “FNL” without Tim is like the earth without sun. Also, does this really have to be the final season of the show? That just isn’t right. And the final thing that makes me scream “it’s not fair!”: DirecTV subscribers will get to watch the season starting on October 27 while the rest of us will have to wait until the spring. Sigh. Today’s Lady News: “Friday Night Lights” Teen Character Chooses An Abortion

  • Wow, so “Friday Night Lights” did have an abortion on the show. After getting pregnant by one of the boys on the football team, 10th grader Becky decided to terminate the pregnancy. That makes Becky one of the few female TV characters to actually go through with an abortion instead of accidentally miscarrying at the last second. [New York Times, Feministing]

  • Forever 21 is launching a new maternity line, love21maternity, in Utah, Alaska, Arizona, California, and Texas. The last three states just happen to have some of the highest percentages of teen pregnancy in the country. Maybe that’s just a coincidence, though? [TheGloss.com]
