I can’t believe I’m saying this. I really can’t. But I have to: Freida Pinto‘s hair from last night’s British GQ event is an abomination. I can’t stand her ‘do. Her dress? Love it. Her acting potential? Amazing. Her hair? 100 percent Dolly Parton updo—stacked like a huge, frizz-ball mass atop her head. What can I say? The “messy pile” is an updo dealbreaker. We were psyched to learn that L’Oreal hired “Slumdog Millionaire”‘s Freida Pinto as its latest spokesperson. This is the first shot from the upcoming ad campaign. She looks ... lighter. L’Oreal, have you learned nothing from the Beyonce debacle? [via Daily Mail U.K.]

“L’Oréal Paris is thrilled to have Freida Pinto as a new spokesperson. The photo that accompanied our announcement is an existing publicity photo of Freida provided to L’Oréal by her management as we have yet to begin our initial project with her (or commenced any photography to date.) We are looking forward to working with Freida on her first L’Oreal campaign, which will take place in the near future.”

“Slumdog Millionaire” thrust Freida Pinto into the spotlight. Since the film was nominated for (and then won) a million awards, she’s attended every major awards show, been scrutinized by the press for her clothing choices, had her relationship with Dev Patel speculated about in the tabloids, and sat in the front row at fashion shows in Milan. What’s next for the Mumbai-born rising star? Possibly a role in the next James Bond film. Rumor has it that Pinto has been asked by the film’s producer to do a screen test with Daniel Craig.
