“Mad? Ya think?! If he came back right now I’d have to kill him, for what he did to us. I’d f**king kill him. I’d f**k him, and then I’d kill him.”

Courtney Love kind of went off when a Vanity Fair writer asked her if she was angry at husband Kurt Cobain for committing suicide. Honestly, Courtney is probably going to get a lot of crap for this quote, but I don’t blame her for being pissed. The issues that drive people to take their own life — depression, illness, etc. — are complicated and hard to grasp and for that reason, I really loathe it when people write suicide off as simply “selfish.” However, the impact suicide has on the surviving family members and loved ones is also complicated and hard to grasp and for that reason I hope Courtney is cut a break for her comments.

In the article, Love also discusses her complicated (is anything not complicated with this woman?) relationship with estranged daughter Frances Bean. Check out more, after the jump… Keep reading »

Courtney Love Is Concerned About Frances Bean’s Tattoos

“I didn’t know she had that many tattoos! We don’t talk but we email, so I didn’t know about the new ones she’d gotten. When she first got that Jeff Buckley thing I was, like, she knows I went on a date with him, right? And I saw the Quentin Crisp, I was incredibly impressed. I was like ‘Awww, that’s my daughter!’ … Well, yeah she’s beautiful. What else did you expect! She’s my kid!”

Courtney Love may be pretty much estranged from 18-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain but she’s still got a mother’s concern about her daughter’s ink. Frances recently posed for some absolutely breathtaking photos by the high-art photographer Hedi Slimane. Who would have thought that of all the famous teens to do photoshoots, the child of Courtney Love’s would be the most tasteful? [NY Observer] Keep reading »

Who’s That Girl? Frances Bean Cobain Is All Grown Up!

Damn. How amazing does Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of the late Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, look in this photograph shot by designer Hedi Slimane? Other pics on Slimane’s blog show that Frances shares her mom’s love of tattoos, though I think her face looks like the perfect mix of both her parents. Check out a few more after the jump! Quotable: Courtney Love Implies Frances Bean Is A Druggie

“She is going to be 18 on 15 August. Thank God, because then this whole palaver will be done. She lives in a mansion by herself. A 17-year-old getting $40,000 a month is outrageous to me—that’s on top of them paying for the mansion. She lives with her nanny, and Grandma Wendy and Kim [Kurt Cobain’s mother and sister] live two doors down, but there’s no drug testing going on. It’s a lot of money for a normal person. It’s enough money to kill her, if she is doing drugs, enough money to be gone by the time she’s 22.”

Frances Bean Cobain’s Art Isn’t Disturbing, It’s Good!

With Kurt Cobain as a dad and Courtney Love as a mom, it only makes sense that 17-year-old Frances Bean Cobain is an artiste. Under the pseudonym “Fiddle Tim,” Frances Bean will exhibit several of her drawings at Los Angeles’ La Luz De Jesus gallery and has sold all of her work for the reasonable price of between $250 to $400 each. “Celestial Splendor” is the charcoal work depicted here; “Treat Me Like Your Mother Or I’ll Eat The Sun” shows a big green alien head, and another drawing of a man standing next to a goat with the caption “I don’t owe you s**t.” Angsty, yes, but I think the girl’s got talent. Media outlets are saying Frances Bean’s art is “disturbing,” but the only thing I think is disturbing is the name of the exhibit: “Scumf**k.” Still, that’s tame in this family. 10 Reasons Why Frances Bean Is Ditching Courtney Love

Poor Frances Bean Cobain. On top of having a dead father she also has the most bat s**t, crazy mother in the world. So crazy is her mommy dearest that she had to try to escape before her 18th birthday. We all let out a little sigh of relief last week when Crazney Love lost custody of Frances. The word is that Cobain’s paternal grandmother and aunt filed a motion to keep custody proceedings confidential from the public because they include “domestic violence” allegations. I wish I could say I was surprised. Again … poor Frances. I hope she will be able to heal from what I can only imagine must have been a very erratic childhood. After the jump, 10 reasons why we think Frances Bean knew it was time to split. As if the physical abuse wasn’t enough. [Newser] Keep reading »

Family Drama: Courtney Love And Other Celebs Who’ve Dissed Their Kids

After Courtney Love lost custody of her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, she aired her grievances on Facebook. Yes, really, she lashed out at 17-year-old girl for choosing to live with her paternal grandparents. Here’s what she wrote:

“I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this s**t has lost her position… she was deceptive, she lied and she’s lying to herself… My daughter is not always honest … She thinks she has all this money. The point is I have all the money she has … Frances is clearly deluded that she can buy her grandmother a small house in la. I’d love to see how that works. They’ll incubate her til shes 18 and then have her sign all the indnemofications.”

Gee, I wonder where Frances Bean picked up these alleged nasty habits? Instead of pointing the blame at her daughter, Courtney should have taken a more realistic look at the situation and examined how the custody battle came about. But she’s not the only celebrity to attack their child publicly. Find out who else has a problem controlling their anger and keeping their traps shut, after the jump. Keep reading »

Quote Of The Day: Frances Bean Cobain Puts Ali Lohan In Her Place

“im ashamed to have to be grouped into the same category of person as you. I would rather die a most painful death the be assoicated with the kind of careere your trying to make for your self. I hope i’m wrong because generally i’m not a very judgmental person, but in the case of you, that is MY entitlement.”

– Frances Bean Cobain in an “Open Letter to Ali Lohan” posted on her Twitter, which has since been deleted. Read the whole missive here. Keep reading »
