A Few Of My Favorite Things: Rhiannon Of Liebemarlene Blog

Georgia-based Rhiannon runs the vintage-inspired blog Liebemarlene, where she waxes philosophic on her travels around the South, sells beautiful vintage wares, and takes stunning photos. “My blog is a vintage-based blog, but I really write about anything that inspires me, from new collections to editorials I like,” says Rhiannon. ” I probably like history as much as I like fashion, so I take a lot of day-trips to pretty or historic places in the south and then post about it on my blog.” Sounds pretty good to us. Check out Rhiannon’s favorite things after the jump! Keep reading »

A Few Of My Favorite Things: Christina From Second Skin Style

Beautiful Christina of the blog Second Skin Style uses her fashion site as “a little collection of my thoughts and outfits,” she explains. Her style is thrift store-eclectic. “I see patterns in everything and tend to think that in the end it all makes sense.” Lately, she says, “I’ve been feeling very hedonistic, and if you think about it, the winter months sort of bring that drive out in people. The cold makes it easy to justify a little pleasure seeking! I am trying to stay grounded though and not get too self-indulgent, but there are a few things I allow myself to dip into with abandon.” Check out Christina’s guilty pleasures after the jump! A Few Of My Favorite Things: Deana From Green With Glamour

Deana is the super cool lady behind Living Green with Glamour. “It’s essentially a lifestyle blog devoted to all things sublime and ‘sustainable’ — whether that’s an organic lip balm, a vintage YSL handbag, a recipe for Vegan Bahn Mi or the best new pieces in eco-fashion and home décor,” explains Deana. “I have a handful of writers who contribute, including Justin Bieber’s hairstylist (go figure), an arty, bohemian husband and wife foodie team, a TV producer with a proclivity for vintage clothing and a Southern belle obsessed with DIY… but I do write most of the posts and edit everything else. The crux of my life’s manifesto is that absolutely no sacrifice in style needs to be made to have an environmentally, humanely and animal-friendly lifestyle.” Check out Deana’s favorite things after the jump! A Few Of My Favorite Things: Valerie And Camilla Of A Butterfly By Day

Mother and daughter duo Valerie and Camilla started their blog, A Butterfly by Day, two years ago after cleaning out a storage closet filled with designer pieces they had once worn. “Going through the closet and trying on the clothes with Camilla, we decided to document them on a blog,” explains Valerie. “After that, a collaboration between us was born.” The pair create style shoots influenced by both fashion and the art world, and feel that “the mix of generations collaborating as one and inspiring each other was unique to us.” Check out some of this awesome twosome’s favorite things after the jump! Sea Of Shoes Blogger’s New Blog Is … Conceptual?

Jane Aldridge, the lucky teen behind fashion blog Sea of Shoes is no stranger to multitasking. Aside from the many projects and collaborations she takes on with her mom and designers, she also maintains another photo blog called They Don’t Call Them Lovers in High School, Leeland. Yesterday, Jane tweeted a link to yet another blog endeavor, explaining that she “always has a new secret blog.” This one is called BeautyStyleShopping, although we don’t see how any of the posts relate to those subjects. Using photo collages or plain images completely out of context, there’s no text explanation either for what the blog is trying to achieve. We guess this is what you might call, uh, artsy? Fashion Blogger Bryan Boy “Traumatized” By Overzealous Fan

Le sigh. It’s, like, so hard being a fashion blogger because once you become totally webfamous then you have to deal with all of your psycho fans. For the most part, Bryan Boy is really enjoying his fashion fame. On taking pics with fans, he says, “I don’t mind it at all. It’s fun! Although I don’t consider myself as a legitimate ‘star’ or ‘celebrity’ … ”

However, he’s recently had a run in with a follower who really crossed the line… Keep reading »

Check This Out: Inside The Brains Of Fashion Kids Blog

Part of the genius of street style and fashion photo blogs is that the picture is the story. What the person is wearing should provoke your imagination. Still, wouldn’t it be cool if you did know everything about that white-haired chick on Jak & Jil, or one of the many tweed-suited men on The Sartorialist? That’s where this Tumblr blog, Inside The Brains Of Fashion Kids, steps in. Sort of. Selecting snaps from street style sites, ITBOFK imagines the inner monologues of the too-cool-for-school subjects. A girl in a denim vest thinks: “I hate the fact that you’ll look at me and think that my clothes make me who I am. I’m more than a denim jacket with the sleeves cut off so you can see my sexy untouched ivory skin. I’m more than these black leggings that cling to my butt so tightly you can see the last person I had anal-sex with. Oops, did I say that out loud? … ” Warning: this blog is extremely un-P.C. and totally unforgiving. Which is why it’s kinda awesome. [Inside The Brains Of Fashion Kids] Keep reading »

NY Times Realizes Fashion Bloggers Matter — Three Months Late

Given that it was printed in a newspaper, the New York Times piece “Bloggers Crash the Front Row” was rather generous towards fashion blogs, acknowledging that we provide an of-the-moment service that magazines simply cannot. I’m not going to bother telling you that fashion blogs matter, because you’re blog readers and you already know that. It’s just ironic that The Times‘ capitulation to the bloggers perfectly encapsulated the very reason why online fashion publications are trampling print media in the first place: timeliness.

While it is true that fashion bloggers sat in the front row at various fashion shows, that was in September. As in almost four months ago. As in this has already been widely noted online. Yet, in swoops The New York Times as 2010 rolls around, there to make the power of the blogger “official.” Oh please. Keep reading »
