Kate Moss Tangles With A Cartoon Snake For Balmain

Well, this is rather lovely. Kate Moss starred in Balmain’s fall/winter ad campaign. Now, the brand has coupled up with Nowness to create an animated video version. In it, Moss fidgets and flops on a sofa while her hair changes color and a series of cartoon creatures accost her. A black snake slithers around her neck and plays with her cigarette smoke. A creepy hand tackles her face. What appears initially to be a fun illustration by the end suggests the girl prostrate before us is possibly haunted by darker forces not readily seen. We like. In Model-land, 25 Is Really, Really Old

Model-turned-filmmaker Sara Ziff created a documentary on what life is like behind the scenes in the modeling industry, “Picture Me.” This week, she’s shooting behind the catwalk curtain at New York Fashion Week to make a mini-doc for New York‘s The Cut blog. In this first installment, Ziff talks to girls about age and modeling. Suffice to say, in this business, if you started at 14, you’re DOA at 25. [The Cut] Keep reading »

Crystal Renn Dances In A Leotard

These days, posting about model Crystal Renn poses something of a conundrum. If we say, “She looks like she lost weight,” it seems as if we’re as preoccupied with her body size as all those who couldn’t stop crowing about her plus-sized-ness when she was a seemingly fuller-figured girl. In any case, we think any woman with enough confidence to bust a move in a nude VPL bodysuit in front of a video camera is worthy of a round of applause. We’re going to make ours now. Fashion Video Attempts To Sell Suicide As Sexy, Fails

Ryan McGinely directed this fashion video for the South Korean brand Lewitt in which model Abbey Lee Kershaw plays the part of a woman who kills herself by throwing herself off a building. Three times. In different outfits. So, you know, it’s like a suicidal fashion show. How … creative. Frockwriter depressingly reports, “it’s worth noting that South Korea has the highest female suicide rate in the OECD,” and adds, “The country’s most high profile modeling export, Daul Kim, committed suicide eight months ago (although not by jumping), part of an alarming new trend of model suicides – most of them by jumping.” Yeah, so, models and suicide. So glamorous. Or, you know, not glamorous at all. [Frockwriter] Keep reading »

Adidas Originals Short Is Where All The Cool Kids Are

They say that advertising is in the crapper these days, but Adidas sure seems to be onto something, at least in the realm of video campaigns, with its Adidas Originals shorts. In “The Street Where Originality Lives,” a cool urban street atmosphere hosts city skater kids who go to just about the most awesome-looking rooftop party you’ve never been to. Oh, and the cameo celeb appearances don’t hurt, either—Agyness Deyn, Ciara, David Beckham, Jeremy Scott, Snoop Dogg, and Whitney Port to name a few. [YouTube via HighSnobiety] Keep reading »

Kate Moss Flashes Her Bottom For Topshop

Spring looks for Kate Moss‘ eponymous Topshop line hit stores this Thursday, but they hit the internet today. Though the clothes themselves are a challenge to see in the angelic light shining behind Ms. Moss, we think the video showed off exactly what it was intended to display: Kate’s MILF body. And if you stick around ogling the entire time, you’ll be rewarded with a glimmer of an arse shot at the end. Oh, the lengths retailers will go to in order to sell clothes. [The Cut] Keep reading »

Porn Star Faye Reagan Stars In Married To The Mob Fashion Movie

We like this latest entrant into the fashion video phenomenon starring flame-haired porn star Faye Reagan in the Married to the Mob, or MOB, fashion line. If you’re not familiar with the brand, Married to the Mob is streetwear designed by women for women: neon leggings, message tees, shiny bombers, skinny jeans. As Reagan’s character makes her way through the city, she keeps changing her clothes to the sound of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Runaway.” Reagan is cool, the clothes are cute, and the music is stellar. We dig it. [Vimeo] Keep reading »

Dolce & Gabbana Male Models Wrestle, Dance

Is it ever too early in the day to watch male dancers grapple in a Dolce & Gabbana video? We thinks not. Starring scantily clad dancers from the Rambert Dance Company, this fashion spot for Wonderland magazine is easy on the eyes, indeed. For a moment, I wondered what their names are, but then I remembered it doesn’t really matter. [Fashin] Keep reading »

Garance Dore Does Fashion ‘Round The World

As of late, fashion blogger and street style shooter Garance Doré has added videos to her repertoire. Many of her videos so far have focused on runway shows, the behind the scenes action, and the models strutting down the catwalk. In her most recent installment, “A Month in Fashion,” she gives a peek at her life as a fashion blogger, traveling around the world to fashion shows, frequently in the company of her fiance, fellow style blogger Scott Schuman, aka The Sartorialist. It’s stylish, sweet, and romantic. [Garance Doré] Keep reading »

Changing Clothes Is The New Competitive Sport

I like this Kitsuné fashion video featuring clothes from the designer’s autumn/winter 2010 Ivy League line. While a soundtrack of hip tunes plays, a male mode, Nils, and a female model, Alazne, engage in competitive dressing and undressing. If only I looked like that when I took off my clothes. Sigh.
