How To Wear: No Sweating Knit Sweatpants

We’re all about being cozy and toasty this autumn, so we’re coveting a pair of knit sweatpants. Surprisingly, these pants aren’t as difficult to wear as you’d think. Thinking of knit sweatpants as simply relax-fit slim pants is the first step. Then you just add other items that make you comfortable and pull the whole look together. Layering other quintessential fall wear, like a plaid shirt over a long-sleeve T-shirt, will complement the relaxed feel of the pants for casual weekend wear. Pick a pair of space-dyed knit pants and you’re on your way to an unconventional tuxedo. Simply add a pretty blouse, a clutch, and shoes and you’ll be ready for a special dinner out. Take a look at the casual and dressy outfits we put together for inspiration. Keep reading »

Even though I am not a tremendous fan of cooler temperatures, one of my favorite quotes ever is from Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers,” Anne-with-an-E says. And so am I. Click on to see what we’re wearing today.

Lady Gaga Does Her Best “Derelicte”

Real talk: This Lady Gaga video for Thierry Mugler’s Spring 2012 collection is so out of control, so twitchy, and outrageously Le Fashion Video that it has to have been inspired by Mugato’s Derelicte collection. I mean it’s straight outta “Zoolander,” right? Gaga plays a weird diamond-toothed rave kid with a biiiiiiiit of a Mugler obsesh. [YouTube]

Shopping Guide: Sequins, Sequins, Sequins!

An array of cute, affordable, and ethical Ts. Read More »

If you would have told us a few years ago that we’d want to wear sequins all over one day, we would have laughed hysterically. But now we’re adding sequins to the list of things we said we would never wear yet can’t get enough of. Sequins are a dazzling way to take part in the metallic trend and are totally appropriate for day when the other clothes you’re wearing are simple. For instance, if you’ve decided on a pair of sequin pants, then add a simple, white button-down blouse to contrast the glitz. Ditto goes for a sequin skirt or shorts. Sequin jackets look amazing with distressed jeans for day, but wearing black crop pants at night is a playful take on a tuxedo. Sequin dresses are best left for nights out and sequin T-shirts will become a wardrobe staple.
