According to a new poll, women are way more likely than men to “stalk” an ex online, with 62% of the 1700 people polled admitting to looking up a former love online. I totally believe that women use the Internet more often than men to garner information on a crush, look up the whereabouts of exes, and check out a former flame’s new significant other. In fact, Catherine and I were just discussing the fact that none of our recent dates seemed to have Googled us, which I kind of find…insulting. It’s been nearly four years since Brad Pitt left Jennifer Aniston and took up with his “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” costar Angelina Jolie. Yet in 2008, one’s alliance with Team Aniston or Jolie has been perhaps as important a statement as being on Team Obama or McCain.

“People are fascinated because many have personally experienced a similar scenario,” clinical social worker Armena Walsh explains. “Having one’s heart broken or being involved in breaking a heart is something people relate to. An obvious draw to this situation is how public the heartbreak was. It’s an issue people have attached moral values to.”

Sadly, the first season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will come to an end after the reunion episode this Tuesday. These women were by far the most entertaining of the Bravo “Real Housewives” franchise because they didn’t keep up appearances for the camera, but let the true drama fly. I’m the only loser at The Frisky that watched every season of this franchise, so I decided to compare the Atlanta housewives with the Orange County and New York housewives. I do have to say that the first season of “Orange County” was entertaining because it was a new concept. I didn’t enjoy “New York” as much because it really exemplified the theory of two New Yorks, one for the haves and a completely different one for the have-nots. At first, we thought Beyonce was a little crazy for developing her alter ego Sasha Fierce, but you know what? Sasha has really grown on us, especially since we’ve spent the last eight hours listening to I Am…Sasha Fierce on repeat. She’s sexy and outgoing and has the sickest body we’ve seen in a while. Beyonce and Sasha obviously have similarities, but when you really start to analyze their personas, you realize that they have quite a few differences. More after the jump.

Christina Aguilera has been taking some heat since she switched up her look. The new platinum blonde hairdo with heavy fringe has people comparing her to pop neophyte, Lady Gaga. Christina has been fighting back like Kenley from Project Runway, by playing dumb. Now the gloves are off and the battle of the bitches is on, but we know if these two kids could see how much they have in common, besides bangs, they could be BFFs for life…or at least do a duet.  So, here’s how they stack up…

Looking like the ghost of Jerry Garcia, Joaquin Phoenix announced, via backwards knuckle scrawl, that he’ll be leaving acting to pursue a music career.  Hopefully that idea will last as long as the ink on his hands, or he might wind up in MySpace band obscurity like Russell Crowe! Although, Joaquin certainly is talented, has a handsome voice, and we could watch him swagger all day. Looks like Jennifer Aniston is back on again with her musician boy toy, John Mayer. After their summer break up, Mayer made amends: “Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I’ve ever met.” But it looks like Aniston isn’t putting all her eggs in his basket again because late last month she was spotted cozying up to Scottish ladies man, Gerard Butler. Both actors claim it was all business, but from the looks of it, their meeting was more of a pleasure. Rumors that they’ve been secretly rendezvousing have been swirling since September. In tonight’s 200-meter individual medley Olympic final, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte will have another swim-off—while Phelps won this race in the 2004 Olympics (and has been cleaning up the gold medals in 2008), Lochte won silver and will be his fiercest competitor in this rematch. But there’s a far more important stand-off to decide between these two teammates and friends: Who Would You Rather…Michael Phelps or Ryan Lochte?
