Confession time: I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for Express. Even though they’re known mostly for slutty office wear. Even though they instructed their employees to use the term “up in this piece” in the ’90s. Because hidden between all of the sequins and bandage dresses, they actually have some really cute pieces at reasonable prices. Mall retailer Express was really cutting edge in ’90s, so much so that it created a special “slang” guide for its employees, (presumably) so they could fluently converse with any and all manner of customer. But given that this manual was created in the late ’90s, during the era of “Beverly Hills, 90210″ and party rap, there are a lot of ridiculous entries in this list.

We love Target for coming up with the genius idea of having cool designers do guest collections and we love the fact that every other store in the world is copying the idea. Celia Birtwell, who made really fun bohemian printed dresses and shirts in the ’70s, has done a line for Express and it’s perfect for Spring/Summer. We heart these two dresses, in Mystic Daisy print and Mini Posh Dot print. Not to mention basically everything else in the collection. More photos, after the jump!
