I recently held a private induction ceremony in my mind for Eva Mendes to join the exclusive club of Celebrites Who Can Do No Fashion Wrong (other members include Diane Kruger and Jessica Alba). I mean, look at this outfit. I’ve been dreaming about that pink coat and glamorous hair flip for weeks now. But yesterday Eva stepped out in this animal print jumpsuit, and while she’s trying her damndest to make it work, I’m not sure it’s actually working. What say you? [Photo: Splash News]
I’m pretty sure Amelia is on a plane flying over the Atlantic right now, which means I’m safe to post something positive about her arch nemesis, Eva Mendes. Good timing, too, because this outfit she wore out in New York City yesterday is one of my favorite outfits of all time. The fabulously retro coat makes her look like Sophia Loren stepping out of a time portal from the 60s, while the textured tights and stiletto booties feel very modern. Sigh. So perfect. Uh oh, now I’m starting to hate her too… [Photo: Splash News]
Merging your personal life with business is a no-no for most, but rules tend to be streched in Hollywood. Meet the famous fellas (ahem, Lord Gosling, Antonio Banderas, and Judd Apatow) who made their famous loves leading ladies, both on and off-screen.
Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes: Hey girl! Honoree Sexiest Man Alive Ryan Gosling is about to make his directorial debut … with girlfriend Eva Mendes by his side. In the film, titled “How to Catch a Monster,” Mendes plays Cat, the head of the Big Bad Wolf Club.
Off-screen, Mendes is winning Mama Gosling’s approval. “I’m wearing Eva Mendes,” Donna Gosling said at the “Gangster Squad” premiere. “She let me raid her closet.” Read more…
What’s that saying about not shitting where you eat? Well, Ryan Gosling has decided to take his second big ol’ dump with girlfriend Eva Mendes, who he’s cast in his directorial debut, “How To Catch A Monster.” The two met on the set of “The Place Beyond The Pines,” of course, and I guess things are going so swimmingly, gag, that Ryan wants to work with his lady friend again. Mendes will reportedly be playing a woman named Cat, who works at something called the Big Bad Wolf Club, which may or may not be a fetish club in the film. The movie itself sounds … weird. I can’t tell if it’s weird good or weird bad, but here’s what Indie Wire says about “How To Catch A Monster”‘s plot: “[T]he cryptic logline reveals the story to be centering on Billy, a single mother of two, who is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive.” Christina Hendricks, Ben Mendelsohn and Rob Zabrecky have already signed on for the film. Look, I’m not trying to jinx things, but I just hope Ryan has a backup in mind for the role of Cat, just incase things go south with Eva. I mean, movies take awhile to make. What if she starts to get on his nerves or he meets someone else? Once cameras start to roll, it’s hard to turn back. Just looking out for Ryan’s best interests is all. [IndieWire]
We’re so bored of our own text messages. The only people who text us regularly are our mothers. Hi mom! We love you, but blergh. We wonder what kind of sexy text messages celeb couples are exchanging … hmmm. They must me more titillating than ours. Or at least more entertaining.
After seeing Jay-Z perform with wife Beyonce this weekend, I had two thoughts: 1) They can never break up, and 2) If the music industry has Jay and Beyonce as their modern power couple, who does Young Hollywood have? Who is the 2012 version of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart? I mean, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, not to mention Amy Poehler and Will Arnett, have split — which famous pair is poised to take the super couple reigns and hold on for dear life? The obvious choice would be Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, but I think we can all agree they are swimming in rough waters right now and can’t really be expected to do the job.
With that in mind, I decided to anoint the new guard of up-and-coming Hollywood super couples, celebs who are great alone but even stronger together. Keep reading »
Ryan Gosling made an appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this weekend and attended the premiere of his upcoming film “The Place Beyond The Pines.” Oh yeah, Eva Mendes was there too, wearing a turban. At first I thought their body language was kind of cool and distant and I felt ashamed of the excitement I felt about that. And then I was mad when I noticed that they were holding hands and unnnnhghhghgh. Well, at least they didn’t get married this weekend like some other people. Phew!
Despite the fact that she stole my man, I actually have a big, burning style crush on Eva Mendes. I think she always looks amazing — super feminine, with touches of retro funk. Also, I am obsessed with her skin tone. She is my tanning muse. I know, she’s got Cuban blood and I don’t. I can still aspire! Anyway, I absolutely love this blousy, belted dress she rocked yesterday in LA, with its bright colors and short hem. I’m sure Ryan Gosling was like, ”Hell yeah, girl,” when they met up later than day and made sweet love while I was at home watching “Big Brother.” Okay, I’m gonna go cry now, bye. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
