Sipping tea from a proper tea cup always feels so relaxing, cozy, and a little glamorous (even though I’m usually wearing my boyfriend’s basketball shorts and watching trashy reality shows during my “tea time”). A pretty cup and saucer not only encourage you to take your tea time a bit more seriously (pinkies up, ladies!), but they look so lovely displayed on the counter when not in use that they truly become part of your home decor. Win-win, I say! Click through to check out 10 beautiful specimens…
Do you struggle with hanger? Do your hangry outbursts cause problems in your interpersonal relationships? Do you need a reminder to just eat a freakin’ handful of almonds before you bite your boyfriend’s head off for a made-up infraction like “breathing loud”? Hang this banner in a prominent place (ideally somewhere near the fridge) and never get caught blindsided by hanger again. [$29, The Bearded Pigeon]
Looking for a Valentine’s Day card for your lover that’s a little less “earnest poem on a watercolor background” and a little more “blatant reference to blowjobs and spanking”? Look no further than Etsy! Here are 10 seriously sexy Valentines you definitely won’t find in the grocery store greeting card section…
Ever since Ami told me about her hippie-tastic trip to Sedona, I’ve been obsessing about crystals and want to fill my life, house, and jewelry box with them. I just discovered the Etsy shop Lirola, which is full of amazing handmade jersey clothing in flattering styles for all shapes and sizes. I pretty much want everything, but this dreamy wrap blouse instantly caught my eye. Wouldn’t it be gorgeous with a black pencil skirt and sexy pumps for a Valentine’s Day date? [$75, Lirola]
The Etsy description for this “cat battle armor” is just too good not to post in its entirety:
“100% wearable, flexible, and comfortable, the Cat Battle Armor is a for-reals armor harness for your kitty. Completely hand-made from durable veg-tan leather, this is no mere costume piece. Your cat will become an unstoppable force for slaughter in this fully articulated suit, shielding him/her from foes while allowing unimpeded movement across the battlefield or living room floor. The imposing torso section features several riveted, articulated plates and a terrifying rack of dorsal spines. Your cat’s hindquarters are sheathed beneath exquisitely arrayed overlapping scales stitched to a soft leather backing, adorned with nickel silver dome rivets. Midnight black scales and plates are finished with a glossy protective coat and seamlessly join together like the petals of a deadly flower. Adjustable at the collar with elastic and two nickel silver buckles, and at the belly with grommeted corset-style lacing for a secure, comfortable fit.”
Convinced your fierce feline is ready for some armor of her own? It will cost you $500, but when it comes to outfitting your pet for the zombie apocalypse, spare no expense! [Etsy]
Just before Christmas, I bought myself a sassy Pamela Barsky pouch to use as a makeup bag, and now I want SO MANY MORE SASSY POUCHES. Her designs are not only cheeky and fun, they’re so well made: thick canvas and heat cured silkscreens ensure they’ll last way longer than the eyeshadow, pencils, hair accessories, tampons, or important tax documents you stash inside. Here are a few of my fave Barsky canvas bags that I’m dying to add to my collection, via her Etsy shop…
This week’s Etsy Spotlight was a total no-brainer. My parents got me this beautiful galaxy print infinity scarf from Etsy shop ShadowplayNYC for Christmas, and I’m so obsessed with it I can barely talk about anything else. It’s made of soft cotton jersey (that’s surprisingly warm!) and printed with a strikingly detailed image of a nebula taken by the Hubble Telescope. Shadowplay was started by “two space-crazed Parsons graduates” who make all of their gorgeous clothing and accessories in NYC using eco-conscious materials and fabric-cutting techniques. Now I’m eyeing this gigantic moon phase scarf and this gorgeous galaxy dress to add to my collection next. Ideally by this time next year, my entire wardrobe will be space-themed. [$85, ShadowplayNYC]

It’s no secret that we love cats around here. (And you, too, Lucca!) What better way to show our love to our feline friends than to decorate our Christmas trees and tabletops with some kitty cheer?
Just, um, maybe not these ones.
