I came across this photo of Miranda Lambert in an ad for her new album, Platinum, and I had one of those moments where I was like, “GIVE ME YOUR OUTFIT NOW.” Her carved rose corset belt is especially stunning, isn’t it? A perfect blend of sexy and country and vintage pin-up. After drooling over this photo for a good 5 minutes, I was inspired to round up some similar rose belts on Etsy. Some are vintage, some are new, some are subtle, and some are seriously rockstar worthy, but you could throw any of them on with a plaid summer dress and boots and channel Miranda’s vibes. There are so many reasons to get in the habit of throwing on a big sun hat on bright summer days. It protects your skin from sun damage. It hides the epic frizz that is a fact of life for many of us this time of year. It adds a major dose of glamour to your outfit. Not convinced? Check out how gorgeous this vintage, ’70s sun hat looks with red lipstick. I want to wear it while lounging on an outdoor chaise lounge and sipping a mint julep. Must. Make. This. Happen. Any woman will tell you that choosing a purse is a surprisingly personal decision. When you carry the same bag every day, it starts to feel like an extension of yourself. It must protect all your most important belongings, go with all your outfits, and possibly double as a weapon if you find yourself cornered by a skeezy dude at the bar. To say your bag needs to be versatile is an understatement. In my opinion (which is, of course, very personal), this crossbody bag is perfect. Big enough to hold your wallet, cellphone, makeup, keys, and a book; small enough to not weigh you down; in a gorgeous burgundy color that works for all 4 seasons. Plus, this baby is made to last: it’s handmade in Portland, Oregon of military grade fabric that’s stain and water resistant. And if that’s not enough, you can customize the color and hardware to match your exact taste. Love. It. [$150, Two Hold]
All I want to wear this summer are tiny cutoff shorts and flowy, floral kimono jackets. Is that OK? Is it still OK if I’m almost 30 and would rather die than go anywhere near an outdoor music festival? Sure hope so, because I’m gonna wear it anyway.
