Entertainment Weekly‘s “Gone Girl” Cover Is Creepy Awesome

I can’t stop staring at the cover of this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, featuring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike as their characters in the film adaptation of Gone Girl, the best-selling book by Gillian Flynn. Quite an evocative and macabre image if you ask me — but it perfectly captures the energy between this disturbingly compatible married couple. Cannot wait for this movie. [Entertainment Weekly]

“If [a relationship] should come along, great … But I feel like I’m not missing anything yet. Maybe one day I will. But my son is three years old, which is an amazing age. Four is an even better age. So if something happens, great, but if not, I’ve got plenty to do…Life is a series of disastrous moments. In between those moments, that’s when you savor, savor, savor.”

Sandra Bullock talks about her relationship status in Entertainment Weekly. I doubt she’s missing out on anything either. If she was, I’m sure she’d know. It’s quite a feat to try to bounce back when your ex is Jesse James. I appreciate Sandra’s her outlook on relationships: a series of disasters with some good moments in between. Often those good moments happen when you’re single — not just when you’re smitten. [People]

Hot! "Fifty Shades Of Grey" Stars Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson Cover Entertainment Weekly

Y’all, I just watched all of the UK series “The Fall” this past weekend and Jamie Dornan plays a serial killer in it and oh my god, I think he is going to perfect as Christian Grey in this sure-to-be weird and kinky movie. Dakota Johnson certainly is doing her best timid mouse impression on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. I like the way Jamie is gripping that tie. Hot hot hot.

Was Kerry Washington’s Skin Lightened On The Cover Of Entertainment Weekly?

kerry washington Entertainment Weekly

Fresh off a week of the Internet wondering whether singer Indie.Arie lightened her skin on the artwork for her new single, there’s a new Black woman looking awfully light-skinned. “Scandal” stars Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn posed in flagrante on the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly and if you aren’t distracted by Goldwyn’s chest hair peeking out from underneath his shirt, you’ll notice Washington’s looking a lot lighter-skinned than her usual gorgeous chocolate brown skin. The reason, I suppose, is probably the same reason as it was for Indie.Arie: the set lighting and camera flashes wash her out. Given all the attention paid to magazine covers by an art department staff (and trust us, there is a ton of attention paid — covers are what move magazines), we know the choice to leave it that way is deliberate. I think Kerry Washington looks gorgeous no matter what. But I also think women of color are beautiful no matter the darkness or lightness of their skin. I wish our culture, including our pop culture, didn’t privilege the light-skinned and lighten darker women. [Entertainment Weekly]

The Bluths are back, baby, and they look better (and more ridiculous) than ever, decked out in royal finery in a photo for Entertainment Weekly‘s reunion issue. Look at Buster’s hook down there in the corner! And Tobias’ vacant, beaming smile! The new season of “Arrested Development” (it still feels surreal to type that) will hit Netflix next spring, and I. Can. Not. Wait. [Entertainment Weekly]

“True Blood” Stars Cover Entertainment Weekly

I am so depressed that “Game of Thrones”‘ second season has come to a close, and “Mad Men”‘s finale airs this weekend. Thankfully, “True Blood” starts up again on HBO this Sunday and Entertainment Weekly is honoring the show with 11 bloody covers featuring the cast. Even Pam gets one! [Entertainment Weekly]

I am loving the cover of Entertainment Weekly, featuring the cast of “Bridesmaids” in tuxedos. The six funny gals were named “Entertainers of the Year” by the magazine and I can’t help but agree. Based purely on the number of times the movie made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants, “Bridesmaids” gets my vote for most entertaining film of the year.

A Second “Breaking Dawn” Cover For Entertainment Weekly

It’s t-minus three months until “Breaking Dawn” arrives in theaters, and the flick has landed its second Entertainment Weekly cover. I guess the first one sold like hotcakes? For the mag’s fall movie preview, they selected what appears to be a still from the movie, with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart frolicking in a waterfall. And they both look hawt.

After the jump, another new image from the movie. Keep reading »

Liam Hemsworth And Josh Hutcherson Of “The Hunger Games” Look Mighty Tasty

Entertainment Weekly readers are starving for “The Hunger Games.” And so this week’s cover features Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, who will play Gale and Peeta in the flick. Last time we saw Hutcherson, he was a little scrawny in “The Kids Are All Right.” He did hardcore training and put on 15 pounds of muscle in order to look like a guy who’s been carting flour and other supplies his whole life. And while they are rivals on screen, these two guys became fast friends on set. ”I think it’s going to blow people’s minds when they see that Peeta and Gale are actually best friends in real life,” says Hutcherson. After the jump, EW has a new picture of Katniss for us, too. Keep reading »

“True Blood” Gothic

This just might be my favorite Entertainment Weekly cover ever. Since Sunday night brings the “True Blood” season four premiere, EW has issued three covers featuring Anna Paquin posing “American Gothic”-style alongside Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Maganeillo, and her real-life husband Stephen Moyer. My fave is this Alexander one, because both of them have such perfect expressions. My least favorite has to be the Joe version, which you can check out after the jump. In real life, Alcide is the character I lust after the most—just not in those overalls. But nevermind what I think, pick your favorite after the jump. Keep reading »
