She’s beautiful, British, smart, stylish, and rocks a daring pixie crop like a pro while flipping the proverbial finger to the suggestion that “men don’t like it” — what’s not to love? “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” was practically the bible of my Troubled Outcast youth, and there is a good chance I am going to see the movie in theaters multiple times. Embarrassingly enough, I was a very serious “Harry Potter” fan back in the day, cloak and wand at the book releases and all. (I probably shouldn’t be outing myself on the Internet, but there it is.) I always thought Hermione was just the coolest, so my adoration of Emma Watson is really just a natural progression of that love. With big-name fashion campaigns and more than a few blockbusters under her belt, the 22-year-old actress went from being known as a bossy, bookish voice of reason to the sylphlike, short-haired vixen she is today. On the cover of T Magazine’s September issue, Emma looks every bit the young, serious ingénue, and she wears it especially well with a smattering of freckles and one sick cat-eye. [T Magazine]
“The Perks Of Being A Wallflower” Trailer Is Finally Out!
Oh, no, “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower” trailer is actually making me miss high school. (Horrible feeling. Don’t go there! Stop that!) Logan Lerman is cheek-pinchingly adorable as Charlie, the wallflower in question; Emma Watson and Amelia’s barely-legal boyfriend Ezra Miller are his misfit pals, Sam and Patrick. Paul Rudd co-stars as an English teacher who is hotter than should be allowed. The movie’s out September 14th, which gives you plenty of time to read the amazing book on which it is based, written by Stephen Chbosky. If you can handle the teen angst, that is. [MTV]

“The Bling Ring” has sounded promising since news first relayed that Sofia Coppola would be adapting the story for the silver screen. It goes something like this: a band of spoiled, fame-obsessed Hollywood teenagers break into the homes of stars like Orlando Bloom and Paris Hilton. It’s a startling (and, as you’ll recall, true) tale of celebrity, greed, and youth in the age of the Internet, which the teens used to track down the whereabouts of their high-profile victims. The first photo of the cast hit the web this week via Entertainment Weekly, and I must say, they’ve styled the naughty mid-aughties kids to a T: Emma Watson looks every bit the young, wealthy heathen, replete with a fur vest and, naturally, the requisite how-old-are-you-why-do-you-have-that Birkin bag. The rest of the cast is spot-on, too: attractive, expensively-dressed, big iced coffees, no-soul-behind-my-Dior-sunglasses stares … yeah, I’m really looking forward to this movie. We knew that pole dancing had gone mainstream when soccer moms started talking about it, and we all remember when Miley Cyrus took a stab at it during the 2009 Teen Choice Awards. Since then, pole dancing continues to seduce women by the truckload. The latest celebrity to express her love for the pole? Emma Watson, who has supposedly taken up pole dancing on the set of “The Bling Ring” to learn how to dance like a stripper. Even though she never thought she’d like it, a source tells the UK’s Sun newspaper that Emma is “amazed with the results because it has toned her body so well [and] finds it quite liberating.” Our little Hermione is growing up! At what point did I become so mortally jealous of Hermione? She went from a frizzy-haired child wizard to a bonafide style icon in practically no time at all — props! Emma, as anyone who’s anyone does, turned out in my fair city for the Tribeca Film Festival, which runs April 18-29, and last Saturday night, she attended the premiere of “Struck By Lightning,” starring Glee’s Chris Colfer. I daresay she was the best-dressed at the event in head to toe Miu Miu, mixing tiny prints in the same color family and tossing on a motorcycle jacket over the whole thing like a pro. “Perks Of Being A Wallflower” Movie Release Might Be Pushed Back, Plus New Stills
“Perks of Being a Wallflower,” starring Emma Watson and Logan Lerman, is currently in post production. They started filming back in the summer of 2011. Fans of the book and Watson have been teased with movie stills but still no trailer. Says a source: “IMDB only has a release date of 2012 and speculation is that the rumored release date for Perks is being pushed back to a fall 2012 release date instead of spring 2012 date.” Click for more stills from the movie…
Emma Watson’s Hair Was The Most Googled This Year
I don’t really get it — because it’s generally understood that most guys don’t like short hair. And if guys don’t like short hair then girls aren’t going to get out of their way to get their hair cut short. However, according to Google stats, Emma Watson’s cute little pixy haircut (sorry, I’m biased!) was the most Googled haircut of 2011. And for the men’s, Justin Bieber’s revolutionary boy teen locks were the most Googled, too.
