Not going to lie: this video of Nicki Minaj surprising the ballerina dress-clad “Super Bass” girls on Ellen DeGenere’s talk show made me start crying at my desk. They performed “Super Bass” for Ellen’s audience (watch here) and then she told them that Nicki was there to meet them. Sophia Grace, 8, and Rosie, 5, are stupid-cute and obviously thrilled. But it’s really when the camera pans to their parents in the audience, who are sobbing, that I lost it. Nicki Minaj looks like she’s tearing up, too. Seriously, go into a conference room if you have to and watch this. It’ll warm even the bitterest of hearts on this Thursday morning. [Clutch Magazine]
“Everyone says, ‘Oh I hope it’s a boy.’ Obviously, we’d be happy either way. It would be so weird to have a boy, and cool and different; and I’m sure it would be fun for Ben, because he likes baseball and all that stuff. But a third girl: three girls is a great way to grow up. I’m one of three girls … [Violet and Seraphina] don’t really care about the gender as long as we name it one of their names. They have some ideas. Ralphie, Frankie, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Rosemarie. Daisy Duck Affleck—I can see us going that way.”
—Jennifer Garner, who is pregnant again, talks to Ellen DeGeneres about why she hopes her third baby turns out to be a girl. Hey, as far as celebrity baby names go, Daisy Duck isn’t that strange at all. I mean Nicolas Cage’s son is named Kal-El.
After the jump, Jennifer explains why Violet is concerned about the size of her posterior. Keep reading »
Man, I love it when Ellen DeGeneres plays prank Cyrano de Bergerac and has celebrities do something outrageous to unsuspecting bystanders while she counsels them on what to say via earpiece. In this clip, David Beckham heads to Target undercover to peddle his new cologne. She has him spray it on his leg so a woman can smell it and then has him yell “Howdy partner!” as loud as possible. But the best part is how he keeps slightly misunderstanding her. “If you stink, come and buy cologne” is a great jingle, though. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »
The new season of “Ellen” kicks off on Monday, and she has a very special celebrity guest—Ashton Kutcher. Apparently, Ashton was surprised by the reaction his naked billboard for “Two and a Half Men” got. So he decided to do the interview without clothes. “It’s getting a lot of attention. So I just figured I’m going to do everything nude from now on,” he said. “Whatever I’m doing I’m just going to do it nude.” Sounds like a plan to us. [People]
I love the adorable things Ellen DeGeneres has guests do when they’re on the show. Her latest brilliant idea? (Or at least, her writers’ latest brilliant idea?) While Colin Farrell was on the show to promote his new movie, a remake of the ’80s classic “Fright Night,” she and Colin dressed up in vampire costumes and hid in the studio bathroom, jumping out to terrify studio audience members. Cute. Also adorable—Colin’s reaction to Ellen asking him about playing a vampire. “It’s a novel idea in this day and age,” he joked. “When I heard they were making it, I was kinda like, ‘Oh Hollywood, what a bunch of unoriginal idiots. They’re going to destroy one of my favorite films. But then I read the script and I was like, ‘No. I like it.’” Hey, at least he’s honest. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »
Too adorable for his own good, Chord Overstreet stopped by for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres yesterday and, during their conversation, revealed that he was wearing the gold undies he rocked in the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” episode of “Glee.” Ellen told him to prove it, at which point he unbuttoned his pants and showed off a pair of yellow undies that read “Ellen ‘s got my tight end covered.” He also explained that Chord isn’t at all a stage name—he’s the third child born to musician parents who chose the name because there are three notes in a chord. Cute. Keep reading »
