Quotable: Lady Gaga’s Meat Dress Has Something To Do With Human Rights

“It’s certainly no disrespect to anyone that’s vegan or vegetarian. As you known I’m the most judgment-free human being on the Earth. It has many interpretations, but for me this evening it’s [saying] if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones.”

– Lady Gaga explains the meaning behind her meat dress to Ellen DeGeneres, a vegan. I love Gaga like whoa, but this is a load of BS. She wears the meat dress for attention. Also, I was unaware that Gaga was “the most judgment-free human being on Earth.” That memo must have ended up in my, heh, spam. [ONTD] Keep reading »

Which Celebrity Pushes The Most Products?

The other day, an ad popped up on my computer for Vitamin Water. And the friendly face telling me to drink the oddly flavored H20 was none other than Ellen DeGeneres. “Wait,” I thought. “Isn’t she also pushing CoverGirl anti-aging products? And doing her dance to inspire folks to get American Express cards? And doing that faux ad for iPhone apps, which even if it wasn’t intended to sell iPhones probably did?”

This got me thinking—which star out there pushes the most products? Here, the results in graph form. See it larger here. A more detailed breakdown, after the jump. Keep reading »

It’s “American Idol”-geddon!

Today, July 30, will forever be known as D-Day in “American Idol” land. I’m reeling, trying to make sense of what the heck happened in the last 24 hours that has very likely demolished my favorite guilty pleasure competition show. Can things ever be the same again? I fear not. After the jump, the demise of “Idol” as we know it, play by bloody play. Keep reading »

Jon Hamm Plays With Himself On “Ellen”

Oh, get your minds out of the gutter! It was a Don Draper Barbie Doll Jon Hamm played with when he stopped by “Ellen” this week. And it wasn’t just any ol’ Don Draper Barbie Doll either; this one was wearing an Ellen thong under his pants. But who can think about dolls — or anything else for that matter — when Jon Hamm is around? And lucky for us, he’s about to be around a lot more. He’s currently filming the fourth season of “Mad Man,” which is set to start airing July 25. That’s two months from today, y’all, not that I’m counting or anything. [via YouTube] Keep reading »

Shelter Success Stories Make For Cute Stamps

We’re all about adopting animals here at The Frisky, and many staffers have given homes to strays or shelter dogs and cats. So, we’re pretty pleased about the initiative the U.S. Postal Service is launching later this month. The USPS will offer a set of stamps featuring adopted pets photographer Sally Anderson-Bruce found in her Connecticut hometown (you can read the animals stories online; Peaches the cat, for example, was born under a porch). In conjunction with the Stamps to the Rescue campaign, the USPS, along with Ellen DeGeneres and Halo: Purely for Pets (of which Ellen is a partial owner) will donate a million meals to animal shelters across the country. Even if you can’t adopt a pet yourself, by putting one of these lovable faces on the envelope you send your rent check in, you might persuade someone else — your landlord, perhaps? — to visit the local shelter. Out Magazine Lists The Most Influential Gay Men And Women Of The Year

Out Magazine‘s “Power 50” is a list of the most powerful gay peeps in the country. It just dropped, and we’re pretty excited about it. The mag ranks people based on their political clout, pop culture value, wealth and, of course, their personal life. Numero uno on the list was David Geffen, a record exec, producer and all around big shot. He was followed by Anderson Cooper, which surprised me quite a bit because, last time I checked, he’s tight-lipped on the subject on his sexuality. I’m definitely not down with assuming, and I’m pretty sure the mag’s readers were none too pleased, either. But, hey, let’s not give all our attention to the dudes. After the jump, look at the big shot lesbians. Keep reading »

“Family Feud” Contestant Gives Confusing Answer About Ellen DeGeneres

I’m not really sure what one particular contestant meant by his answer in the category “Things everyone knows about Ellen DeGeneres,” on a recent “Family Feud” episode, but if Ellen’s reaction means anything, his answer should have been: “She’s so endearing.” Clip above. [via NYMag.com and YouTube]
