Amy Poehler Compares Hollywood To A Bad Boyfriend, Feminism To A Car

Amy Poehler Compares Hollywood To A Bad Boyfriend, Feminism To A Car

“Power sometimes comes down to knowing the vocabulary, figuring out how the system works and how to work within it. You need to believe that you deserve to be in the room once you get there. Directing, producing, and writing is the direction I’m headed into these days…I like to do things that challenge me and make me nervous. You learn early as an actor that creating your own material is the only way to have any control. Hollywood is like a bad boyfriend. You can’t stand around and wait to be asked to dance. I used to say that I wanted to make great art with people I love. Now I have an addendum to that goal: to get things on the air.”

Robin Thicke And Paula Patton Do Rock Star/Groupie Role Play & Other Things You Didn’t Want To Know About Him

Robin Thicke And Paula Patton Do Rock Star/ Groupie Role Play

“Yes. In fact, [Paula] likes to [listen to my music in the bedroom now] more than ever now. Sometimes she’ll even play groupie for me.”

Robin Thicke makes us all go ICK in his way too TMI Elle interview. So, in case you were wondering, he and Paula are having TONS of sex. Other things I learned about Robin (and his father, Jason Seaver, I mean, Alan Thicke) that I didn’t want to know: his father had an indoor jacuzzi that he used to seduce women; Robin saw one of those women naked in the shower when he was a kid; his father taught him how to play it cool with women so he didn’t seem desperate; his penis is bigger than his son’s, but smaller than LeBron James’; he walks around the house naked; and he has a cheerleader fetish. I could keep going but I don’t want to. This interview explains so much. [ELLE]

Ethan Hawke Wants Young People To Have More Sex

“I was very, very lucky. I lost my virginity to someone I cared for very much and who cared very much for me. The thing that’s so important for young people to know is that, if you use protection, sex is one of the few vices you can have as a young person.”

– Ethan Hawke talks talks sex in the September issue of Elle. His statement struck me as odd and a little bit tone deaf. I don’t think young people need to be encouraged to see sex as a “vice,” but they do need to be more well-informed about the sex they’re having. [Elle]

Scarlett Johansson Is Feeling “Meh” About Marriage

Scarlett On Her Nude Pics
They were sent to now ex-husband Ryan Reynolds. Read More »

“I got married when I was young and it was incredibly romantic and I liked being married, actually. But it is different. It’s hard to put into words. To me, being in a functioning relationship doesn’t mean you have to be married. I never think about marriage. Is that weird? The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me would I get married again. It’s really not important to me. It has no relevance to me right now.”

–Scarlett Johansson gives Elle UK an update on her current feelings about marriage, which, if I may say so, are definitely not weird. In fact, I feel quite similarly and wish more people would focus on building healthy relationships instead of rushing into marriage. Scarlett has been dating French journalist Romain Dauriac for the past couple months, while ex-husband Ryan Reynolds apparently never lost his enthusiasm for holy matrimony, and married Blake Lively a few months back.
