But not quite, of course. Sure, I ran 12 city blocks — in heels — to stand next to him in front of Whole Foods. Yeah, I’m working on a rom-com screenplay about my crush on him. And I definitely am alone in having to suffer through a Goservention. But still, it has come to my attention that I — okay, and tens of thousands of regular folks — am not the only one who has a major boner for Ryan Gosling. Quite a few celebrities — including otherwise straight men — have a special place in their hearts (and spank banks) for the Gos. Read on for some unadulterated Gosling worship… Keep reading »

5 Things You Should Know About Alice Englert, Breakout Star Of “Beautiful Creatures” &”Ginger & Rosa”
“Ginger & Rosa” is a new movie starring Elle Fanning, Christina Hendricks, Annette Bening and relative newcomer Alice Englert. Englert’s also in the new witchy teen movie “Beautiful Creatures.” We’re way into her, because she looks both ethereal and sharp, and thus far in her blossoming career has managed to straddle the line between commercial teen sensation and serious actor-y roles.
So what’s Englert’s story? And why do we think you should be paying attention? Read on to find out.
- Vogue and the CFDA spare no effort when they join forces for causes like Obama‘s reelection. Their most charitable venture to date? Their latest fundraising initiative, Fashion for Sandy Relief, brought in $1.7 million for the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City. [Fashionista]
- Today in TERRIFYING: a woman who received a $20,000 stem-cell facelift at a posh Beverly Hills salon began experiencing crunching noises and excruciating pain every time she closed her eye. It turns out she was growing bones in her eye. [The Gloss]
- Ugh, vegans are so annoying. [Sorry Julie! -- Editor] Like Anne Hathaway, who required custom-made vegan shoes for all of her Les Misérables scenes. It’s the French Revolution, Anne, vegan is not a thing. [E!]
- Elle Fanning got heavily Photoshopped in this shoot for BULLETT Magazine’s “Surreal” issue, but not the kind of airbrushing we’re accustomed to. [Styleite]
Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning — they’re young, they’re talented and they’re so, so pretty. Both sisters have incredible careers and great style (and are at least three years away from the legal drinking limit). Both of them make me feel like I haven’t accomplished squat with my life. Thanks Fannings, I’m depressed now.
But! Anyway! We’ve picked some of the Fanning’s best looks, and picked our favorites. Agree or disagree with our choices? Let us know in the comments!
I was all about Hot Topic and graphic Ts when I was Elle Fanning’s age, which is plenty embarrassing enough without someone like Elle running around looking consistently on point. Her sartorial sense is impressive at any age, but the fact that she’s so well-dressed at 14 is frankly kind of mind-blowing. Yes, I would do terrible things to push my way into her closet (and, ohmygod, all the better if she shares one with Dakota), but I’d still think twice before I went for this maxi dress. The shape and silhouette are undoubtedly gorgeous, but the effect of the polka dots and vintage-y floral print together is, shall we say, A Lot Of Look. I love the ’70s Michelle Phillips vibe, and Elle’s mermaid hair and fresh-faced makeup are perfect — I think she definitely made the best of this slightly busy look, but do you love it?
“As far as I’m concerned, there’s a no-closet-sharing policy, but as far as Elle is concerned … I’ll go in my room, and there will be clothes on the floor, clothes missing, clothes that are now in her closet. Last summer, I was in London working on a film, and I was looking online and these pictures came up on my homepage. She was in my hat, my dress, my shoes. I called her up and was like, ‘I caught you! They photographed you wearing all my stuff. Put it back!’ … She hung up on me! She didn’t care at all.”
Dakota Fanning tells Teen Vogue how the paparazzi helped bust her younger sister, Elle Fanning (pictured above), raiding her closet. Elle usually looks pretty awesome, though — Dakota should just raid her closet right back! [Teen Vogue] Keep reading »
Siblings — we’ve all got ‘em! Well, most of us at least. I don’t know if you know this, but even celebrities have siblings. In fact, some of our favorite female celebrities happen to have equally cool sisters. They’re not always equal in fame quotient, but that’s okay — they make up for it in other ways.
You guys already know how I feel about turning ultra young girls into supermodels. However, I’d be remiss in not letting you know about these three covers of the new issue of Love magazine, featuring Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, each cover features one of the girls in ethereal glowing light, crying. I suppose it has something to do with the heightened emotional state of teenage girldom or something. Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be cover models. Check out the two other covers after the jump.[MDX] Keep reading »
Okay, okay, so I get it: fashion’s always on to the next. The newest, the weirdest, the most avant-garde — and apparently, the youngest. And that’s why the Fanning children, Elle and Dakota, have been on fashion’s sweet radar for the last year or so, making the rounds in magazine editorials, on blogs and in designers’ campaign videos. Dakota, the elder Fanning, is the ripe old age of 17, and so we’re somewhat less troubled by her meteoric rise into the sweet embrace of fashion’s bosom. But younger sister Elle Fanning is only 13 years old. And she looks it!
So what, you say? Keep reading »
