Jennifer Lawrence Would Like The World To Know She Eats Cheesesteaks

“Fifteen minutes before, the guy doing my hair goes, ‘If you can get a salad, get a salad … I said, ‘I’m getting a Philly cheesesteak.’ I’m sure there’s proof on a hotel bill somewhere.”

–”X-Men” actress Jennifer Lawrence, talking about what she ate before the Oscars, in this month’s Elle magazine. This is an example of Lawrence is providing a Documented Instance of Public Eating — a common celeb interview occurrence, wherein an actress attempts to prove how utterly normal she is by listing off the fattening foods she’s eaten. Noted! [Elle]

Khloe Kardashian: The “Ugly Sister” With The Beautiful Closet

Jealous of Khloe Kardashian’s color-coordinated shoe closet? I know I am salivating right now, so I can only imagine how Kim and Kourtney feel. Good god, that closet is a sight to behold. “I love all of my shoes! It is a must to have them color coordinated, and to be able to see each and every one of them. I know exactly where each one lives and I can tell if one has even been moved! It definitely helps to put one shoe facing front, and the other to the back. It saves space, but it is also nice to be able to see the back-side of the shoe. I am an organization freak!” Khloe told Elle magazine. The neat freak in me is kvelling. I’ve tried to organize my shoes but they always end up mismatched and all over place. Maybe it would be different if I had 75 pairs of Laboutins. Khloe may be the “ugly sister“(even though she’s hot by all standards), but more than makes up for it in the shoe department. We all have our strengths. [Elle] Keep reading »

E. Jean, Elle’s Advice Columnist, Needs To Stop

Usually we read Elle magazine’s advice column “Ask E. Jean” with a sense of bemused horror. We imagine E. Jean sitting poolside sipping a Mai Tai, systematically rattling off terrible, cliche, and gender-stereotyped advice to a beleaguered assistant who’s forced to type up every word. You see, the women who write into E. Jean often have similar problems — the spark in their relationship has died, their husbands or boyfriends are now distant or disinterested. And without fail, E. Jean always recommends the same thing — “Oh honey, just whip up a steak dinner, put on some sexy lingerie and seduce your man back into the relationship.” In E. Jean’s world, we’re all just a sexy negligee away from solving all our relationship woes.

And then we read E. Jean’s advice to a woman who’s been married for four months and is still a virgin … Keep reading »

Gabby Sidibe Graces The October Issue Of “Elle”

I’m surprised to see Gabby Sidibe on the cover of Elle‘s October issue. Magazines like Elle aren’t known for putting plus-size women on the cover. I think she looks pretty, but not everyone agrees. A blogger for Clutch thinks Gabby’s skin looks lightened and that her weave looks messed up. Specifically, “The weave looks like an old used up brillo pad that has seen too many greasy pots and too many anti-humidity products.” Ouch. It’s hard to tell if Gabby’s skin was lightened — hope not — or the giant-ass lights were just reflecting off her face during the shoot. Anyhoo, I still stand by what I said: She looks pretty to me. Elle Creative Director Joe Zee Wanders New York City In A Chanel Fur Suit

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Joe Zee. But if you watch “The City,” Elle magazine’s creative director comes across as fun but a little bit of a hard-nose. Here, though, in this hilarious video, we get to see another side of Zee, making fun of himself. For some reason, Zee decided it would be a good idea to meander through the streets of Manhattan during a heatwave looking for the zoo and wearing a giant faux-fur suit from Chanel’s fall-winter runway show. It’s Yeti Zee! Watch as Joe sunbathes his fur, gets a hairball, and tells everyone his hair is couture. [Racked] Keep reading »

Quotable: Rihanna Talks About Matt Kemp And Chris Brown

“I have a boyfriend [Matt Kemp]. I’m so happy. I feel really comfortable, and it’s so easy. I have such a chaotic life, but at the end of the day, that is just my peace. It keeps me sane, really, talking to him and talking to my family … A year ago, I was very confused. Because [Chris Brown] was my best friend. All of a sudden, one night changed our whole lives—not only our friendship, but our lives. I wanted to wake up one day and just not have that pain anymore. I wanted to be with him again or get over him—it was either-or. I just didn’t want to feel the pain, the confusion.”

Rihanna also talks fashion designers, the strength and vulnerability of women and stardom, in the July issue of Elle [The YBF] Keep reading »
