Dominique Strauss-Kahn Allegedly Hired Prostitutes From The Same Madam As Eliot Spitzer

Rich men get their ties from Brooks Brothers, their cars from Maybach, and, apparently, their $1,200-an-hour call girls from madam Kristin Davis. Like his predecessor in public shaming, Eliot Spitzer, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the head of the International Monetary Fund who resigned Wednesday night after he was accused of sexually assaulting a New York City hotel maid last weekend, allegedly hired prostitutes from Wicked Models to keep him warm at night. (Or, just for an hour.) Madam Kristin Davis said Strauss-Kahn used her services in January 2006, requesting an “all-American girl” and paying $2,400 for two hours of her time. “He paid in cash,” Davis told the Times of London. “The first girl I sent to him said he was aggressive and didn’t want to be back with him again.” Davis claims Strauss-Kahn also hired a Brazilian prostitute in September 2006 while in New York City for a conference with Bill Clinton. Veiled Muslim Woman Yelled At By Woman Not In Veil, While Eliot Spitzer Moderates

Who would have thought the “Love Guv” would have found himself moderating a feminist debate about the veil? Life sure is strange sometimes. The other night on Eliot Spitzer’s CNN program, Hebah Ahmed, a blogger for Muslim Matters who wears a veil, debated Mona Eltahawy, a Muslim commentator who does not wear a veil, about the “burqa ban” in France that went into effect on Monday. 10 Jobs Eliot Spitzer Would Be Better Suited For Than Hosting A Show On CNN

Yesterday, we addressed the rumor that Eliot Spitzer might replace Campbell Brown on CNN, hosting a “‘Crossfire”-esque debate show. It seems that no one is particularly psyched about this proposition, even Spitzer himself. Right now, Spitzer is working at his father’s real estate company, which isn’t really helping his reputation much. So, we set out to find 10 jobs Eliot Spitzer would be better suited for. Eliot Spitzer To Replace Campbell Brown On CNN?

Sigh. Emmy Award-winning reporter Campbell Brown is leaving CNN. In a statement, she didn’t beat around the bush, saying, “The simple fact is that not enough people want to watch my program, and I owe it to myself and to CNN to get out of the way so that CNN can try something else.” And now, there’s a rumor going around about a very exciting “something else.” The word on the street is that Eliot Spitzer may get the 8 p.m. time slot, for a “‘Crossfire’-esque debate show.” The Spitz is not as nice to look at as Campbell, but he has been appearing on a lot of cable news shows lately. He even guest hosted MSNBC’s “The Dylan Ratigan Show” on Monday. Plus, as the laws of reality TV dictate, “If they don’t go away on their own, put them on television!” Keep reading »

The Manhattan Madam: Eliot Spitzer’s Comptroller Competition?

In proof that there is life after a big ol’ sex scandal, for the past few weeks, rumors have been swirling that a certain former New York governor with a taste for expensive call girls (that’s you, Eliot Spitzer) will be returning to politics and running for New York comptroller in 2010. But now, one of his frenemies says that if he runs, she’ll run, too. Kristin Davis is the madam who provided Spitzer with (advice columnist?) Ashley Dupre and other high-end prostitutes for years, to the tune of about $80,000. But when he got caught by wiretap arranging a liaison, Davis felt Spitzer was quick to tell the authorities her name. And she’s still pissed about it, after spending four months in Rikers. “I like to wreak a little havoc here and there. It’s ludicrous that Spitzer would even consider running for public office again, and even more ludicrous that New Yorkers would vote for him. But if he’s going to run, then so will I,” she said on her website. “His abuse of some of the women I arranged for him to spend time with raises serious questions about his character … [My platform] highlights the inequities and sexism in our criminal justice system which penalizes women, minorities and poor people while wealthy, connected white men like Eliot Spitzer evade justice.” Who do you think would win in the showdown—Spitzer or Davis? I’m secretly hoping that Heidi Fleiss becomes Davis’ campaign manager. [NY Daily News] Keep reading »
