Hannah Montana is deader than dead: Miley Cyrus’s newest musical offerings include “Bitches Love Cake,” this totally weird (on purpose) dubstep song with Borgore. It’s got a baby goat, panda and unicorn costumes, and a big ol’ cake . Oh, and Miley Cyrus’s freakishly long tongue. As commenter LR52185 told me when he sent this in, “Miley must have some Gene Simmons in her … her tongue is huuuuuuuuuuge.” All the better to lick Liam Hemsworth with, I suppose.
The words “Taylor Swift” and “dubstep” in the same sentence together suggests you will soon be stabbing your own ears with a pair of blunt scissors. But you know what? “I Knew You Were Trouble” is actually good. It’s not dubstep-dubstep in a Skillrex-y kinda way. But it’s not Taylor Swift butchering the genre either. And I’m a Taylor Swift fan to the end (shut up) but even I’ll admit she’s got to mix up her repetoire. “I Knew You Were Trouble” is so good that I can imagine Ellie Goulding covering it — and that is my highest compliment. What fresh hell is this? It appears that wee Corey Feldman lookalike and dub step perpetrator Skrillex is set to star in a remake of “The Crow.” The cursed 1994 film starring Brandon Lee is probably as well known for Lee’s accidental on-set death as it is for being a cult-fave among comic book fans. There’s been four additional “Crow” films since the original, but most have been straight to video. Bradley Cooper was originally supposed to star in the remake, but dropped out. So now Skrillex is set to star in the film, despite the fact that he’s got no prior acting experience, so obviously this is going to end really well. [Mix Mag]
UPDATE: According to a rep for the studio we spoke with, they have not offered the role to Skrillex and have yet to cast anyone in the remake. Phew.
