Play The Frisky’s Academy Awards Drinking Game This Sunday!

Hollywood’s months-long celebration of itself comes to a close this Sunday with the Academy Awards, and we’ll be tweeting and drinking through the whole thing, as per usual. Starting at 6 p.m. EST, The Frisky (@TheFrisky on Twitter) will be tweeting the red carpet arrivals along with our fellow Buzz sites Celebuzz and Socialite Life using the hashtag #OscarBuzz and all you have to do is follow along to get all of our thoughts on what the stars are wearing. But for extra fun, have our Oscars Drinking Game rules handy — Julie (@havethehabit) and I (@xoamelia) will also be tweeting and drinking throughout the whole awards show. A grand time is sure to be had by all! See you Sunday!

Play The Frisky’s Golden Globes Drinking Game This Sunday!

Awards shows are a dime a dozen, but we like the Golden Globes because all the nominees are drinking and eating while the show goes on, and are generally sloshed by the time they get on stage. That, plus Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are hosting this year’s awards, which means it’s going to be extra funny. Tina and Amy know how pat and stale these things can be, and they’ve created their own drinking game. We are a tad partial to ours, only because it’s a bit more specific — more like a scavenger hunt than a drinking game. Or like a scavenger hunt with your TV. And booze. (The Golden Globes air Sunday January 13 at 8ET/5PT on NBC. )

How are you going to get through the next 24 hours of election news, voting and results? If you’re anything like us, you’ll need a stiff drink or three to watch the votes roll in tonight. We are nervous as heck, and this drinking game should help us, and you, relax a little bit. Until the cold, harsh light of Wednesday morning hits us, anyway.

The Academy Awards are this Sunday, and we’ll definitely be watching. To make it more exciting — and because the ceremony is usually at a minimum four hours long — we’ve created a handy drinking game to make the Oscar festivities more fun, and more drunk-y than usual. The “Mad Men” Drinking Game

It’s “Mad Men” mania over here at TheFrisky. The only way we could possibly overdose is by playing this drinking game. Round up some friends for the season premiere on Sunday night and see if you can keep up with the characters. If you want to class things up, take a cue from the set’s self-described “Alcohol Department,” which told the New York Times that the painstakingly accurate cocktails imbibed on the show include martinis, rusty nails, Tom Collinses, and vodka gimlets.
