Forbes Mathematicians Declare Drew Barrymore The Most Overpaid Actress In Hollywood

According to Forbes, Drew Barrymore is the most overpaid actress in Hollywood. Some shamefully confusing math, which I’ll spare you, revealed that for every dollar paid Barrymore this year, her work garnered only $.40 in returns. Oof! And goodness knowsshe’s making some good ka-ching with her CoverGirl sponsorship. Other notables on the list are Eddie Murphy ($2.70 in returns for every dollar he earned), Reese Witherspoon ($3.55) and Vince Vaughn ($5.20). Number 10 on the list, officially the least overpaid of the most overpaid, is Nicole Kidman who brought in $6.70 for every dollar she was paid. [Forbes via Dlisted]

Drew Barrymore To Teach Us “How To Be Single”

Drew Barrymore is gearing up to direct her second flick, and instead of delving into the wild world of roller derby, this time around Drew will be covering more familiar territory—the state of the single person. The movie, “How To Be Single,” is based on a novel by Luz Tucillo and will be adapted by Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn, the scribes behind the Drew-produced “He’s Just Not That Into You.” The movie will tell the story of a group of single New Yorkers and will follow them over the course of 10 years. “Love is never gonna be a tired subject,” Drew says. “Being single, this one definitely speaks to me and I’ve explored it a lot in the last year and a half. I’m at that age where I’m sort of straddling a great line right now and I can see both sides very well… It’s hopefully, in a lot of ways, not a romantic comedy. People have this weird stigma [with] that word — it’s a turnoff to guys or whatever. But I think we’ve honed in on a style that will be more universal, a little bit ageless and not gender specific.” And with that, she has piqued my interest. [EW] Keep reading »

Leighton Meester Takes A Time Machine To 1994

Dear Leighton Meester, We love “Poison Ivy”-era Drew Barrymore as much as the next girl. But that doesn’t mean we feel the need to throw on a ’90s-ified crop top. Sure, you look cute (when do you not look cute?), but this is one midriff-baring trend we hoped would stay safely in the past. Keep reading »

Quotable: Drew Barrymore Explains Her Photographs

“There is some lighting where I absolutely resemble Shamu. People have to know that you pick the best pictures where the lighting is beautiful and the angles are right and the body positions are gorgeous. And then, guess what, you turn, sit, hit the wrong light, and your belly flaps over and we all look human again.”

Drew Barrymore explains the magic of editorial photography in Harper’s Bazaar. Hm, well, I’m not sure I think lighting and body positioning are the only explanation for this particular cover photo, do you? [Huffington Post] Keep reading »

Drew Barrymore Thinks Justin Long Is The “Cat’s Pajamas”

Starring in a movie with your ex and possibly current boyfriend has some interesting consequences. One of them—that you’re asked about your relationship so many freaking times that you run out of words to describe it. So we are happy to see Drew Barrymore getting so creative with her slang in describing Justin Long while she promotes “Going the Distance.” Here’s her most recent quote about him in the new Harper’s Bazaar: “I couldn’t love, respect, admire and enjoy that individual more than I do. It would be physically impossible for me to have any more giggly joy at this person… He’s the cat’s pajamas.” In Drew’s honor, can we bring back the phrase “cat’s pajamas”? I think that’s cute. Drew Barrymore Looks Bizarre On Bazaar Cover

Don’t get me wrong, she looks beautiful. But if I didn’t know better, I would think this was a Drew Barrymore imposter! Something went wonky in the photo-editing room and I can’t quite place what Keep reading »
