OMFG, Finally—Lonny Launches Today!

So we warned you it was coming, but after four months (it feels like way longer than that!) of waiting, the digital mag, Lonny, headed up by Rubie Green founder Michelle Adams and photographer Patrick Cline, is finally here—sweet Jesus, thank the Lord! (Can you tell I’ve been reading and re-reading and re-re-reading my old collection of Dominos every day since its demise?) You must check it out here. They’ve got sweetly chic bathrooms, rustically elegant table settings (by former “Top Design” contestant Eddie Ross), and a peek inside Deborah Needleman’s (former editor-in-chief of the magazine) country retreat, above. It feels a lot like Domino, especially all the product pages upfront, and with reason—loads of former staffers have helped in the creation of Lonny. Click over there now. It’s complete eye candy yumminess! [Lonny] Keep reading »

Is Domino Magazine Designing A Comeback?

Though blogs and websites give us the immediate information we so desire, we still experience a mourning period when a magazine closes. It’s like losing a fabulous, glossy best friend. And when Domino shut down production, our homes seriously felt the lack of good interior design. Thankfully, a former editor, Michelle Adams, hasn’t let go of the dream just yet. Adams plans to launch Lonny, a brand-new home design book, only this time the pages will be an online-only option.

While the webzine (or, as Tyra calls it, “magaline”) will appear just like a regular magazine divided into sections–front of book, style, market, culture, fashion, and features–this time, instead of ripping out pages and going shopping, purchases are just a click away. We knew there was a reason why the internet would rule the publishing industry. Happily, parts of the old team have reunited, as former editor-in-chief Deborah Needleman has her very own feature in the premiere issue and designers Jonathan Adler and Celerie Kemble will appear in following issues. Stalk your browser beginning on October 1, when the first issue will hit, er, the internet newsstands. [WWD]

The New Domino Magazine?

It’s called Lonny magazine and as of late last night (or early this morning, rather), it’s now got a launch date—October 1st. For those not obsessed with every move ex-Domino staffers make, Lonny is home decor/design mag in the vein of Domino (it’s even got a former Domino editor on its inagural cover, look!) that’s being pulled together by Michelle Adams, the woman behind Rubie Green textiles, and a former Domino assistant herself! It’s set to be online only—PDF versions, perhaps? So get pumped, Domino lovers. Interiors coverage is set to get fun again! OMFG. [MA Belle] Keep reading »
