CDs! Hahahahaha! Remember those? But seriously: someone at HMV stores in London was not kidding around when they posted stickers reading “Warning: Do not buy this album! This man beats women!” on Chris Brown’s latest album. Rumor has it the CDs were sticker-bombed by feminist activists. Bad-ass! [Gawker]

Indian Judge To Abused Wife: “Why Are You Still Talking About His Beatings?”

Today's Lady News photo
  • A judge in India completely dismissed a woman in his courtroom in the most offensive, Pat Robertson-ian way possible: he told her “Your husband is doing good business. He will take care of you. Why are you still talking about his beatings?” The 28-year-old was challenging her husband in a domestic abuse case, but the judge told her that all women suffer in marriages and she should learn to deal with it. Justice Bhaktavatsala then helpfully suggested that the abusive husband take his wife and their son out to lunch. Facepalm. [Daily Mail UK]

"Problem" Wive? Move To Saudi Arabia!
  • “Problem” wife not respecting your “authority” as the “head of household”? Move to Saudi Arabia, advises Pat Robertson of the Christian Broadcasting Network, where you could “become a Muslim” and “beat her.” And it gets worse if you listen to the full clip. Oh Jesus. If you need me, I’ll be under my desk drinking. [Gawker]

"He was the love of my life."
  • Rihanna still loves Chris Brown, forgives him, and confessed “the main thing for me is that he’s at peace.” She told Oprah on ”Oprah’s Next Chapter” last night, “I’m not at peace if he’s a little unhappy or still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds peace.” She also said that they are not back together but “we’ve built a trust again. We love each other and we probably always will.” RiRi also opened up about how after he brutally assaulted her in 2009, she was most concerned that “he needs help.” [Hollywood Life]

MORNING QUICKIES
"Who's going to help him?"
  • In an interview airing this Sunday on OWN, Rihanna opens up to Oprah about her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown’s assault on her in 2009 and how difficult it was for her to process. “I lost my best friend. Everything I knew switched in a night and I couldn’t control that,” Rihanna says in the preview above. She continues that one of the hardest things about the aftermath of the assault and their breakup was watching Brown get demonized in the media. “I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help,” she says. “Who’s going to help him? Nobody is going to say ‘He needs help.’ Everybody is going to say ‘He’s a monster’ without looking at the source. I was more concerned about him.” [TMZ] Keep reading »

  • Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson has issued a public apology towards Evelyn Lozada, his bride of only six weeks. The NFL player was arrested for allegedly headbutting Lozada during a fight on Saturday night; he was subsequently dropped from the Miami Dolphins and yesterday Lozada filed for a divorce. In his statement he said, “I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL.” [Global Grind]
  • Cheatin’ scoundrel Rupert Sanders will return to direct “The Huntsman,” which will star Chris Hemsworth. But Kristen Stewart’s role is still up in the air. When I was in college, I was obsessed with this one guy. OB-SESSED.  He had a girlfriend, but he was just so dreamy, and I had concocted this fantasy that he would break up with her and be with me.  (Shut up. I was 18.)  I was messed up in the head over this fool for the longest time, convinced he would fall in love with me if he just knew me well enough.

That did not happen.

What did happen was that I used to walk past the retail store where he worked just so I could catch a momentary glimpse of him and then scuttle away like a cockroach. My friends yelled at me for doing this. I was in a miserable and unhealthy place in my life: many, many years away from getting control of the anxiety and depression that shredded up my late teens and early 20s. I was in no place to realize — as I later would — that if a man doesn’t want you, he doesn’t want you. Keep reading »
