“People always say ‘You seem to always be so happy.’ But I’m not always happy. Nobody is happy all the time. I’m a very sensitive person. I’m a songwriter, so I have to live with my feelings on my sleeve. I have to not harden my heart, because I want to stay open to feel things. So when I hurt, I hurt all over. And when I cry, I cry real hard. And when I’m mad, I’m mad all over. I’m just a person; I like to experience whatever the feeling is and whatever I’m going through. But I have a good attitude. And I was born with a happy heart. I’m always looking for things to be better.”
In an interview with Southern Living, Dolly Parton got real about the feelings behind that lipstick-caked smile of hers. I’d have been surprised if she said anything different. Fake as her boobs may be, her character is as real as it gets, and her honesty about that is one more excuse to be obsessed with her. She also talked about the plastic surgery habit that got her those boobs in the first place:
“Well, I never would have said I did it if I hadn’t got caught at it. But I wasn’t gonna lie about it! So then after I got caught and I didn’t lie about it, people started asking me [more often]. And I thought, ‘Well, you know, what the hell?’ After so much time, after you get older, it can help people. I’m not being the poster child for any of that, but people know you do it. If they ask me, I just say ‘Yeah, whatever. And I ain’t done yet!’”
Hey, like she said, facelifts can help people! Ain’t no shame in the boob job game if that’s what makes you happy.

“My boobs are fake, my hair’s fake, but what is real is my voice and my heart.”
Dolly Parton made her debut at the Glastonbury Music Festival this year, and due to a slight audio/visual delay in her televised performance, viewers (and various news sources) accused her of lip syncing. Dolly set the record straight with this quote in The Sun that will surely go down in history as a perfect summation of Dolly Parton. Oh, and check out her performance of “Jolene” above if you don’t believe her. That gorgeous voice is as real as it gets. [Telegraph]

The real estate gods are tempting me something fierce lately: first Celine Dion’s mega mansion goes up for sale, now Dolly Parton’s Los Angeles home has hit the market. Just one of Dolly’s 15 (!) abodes, the modest, Spanish-style two-bedroom in West Hollywood is just over 1,000 square feet, and decorated in a southwestern, “shabby chic” style. Scrolling through the photos of doilies, cactus-themed artwork, and Yankee Candles, you’d never guess that A) this house belongs to Dolly Fucking Parton and B) that this house is listed for $1.395 million. But hey, that’s the LA real estate market for you. Do I still want to buy it? Of course! I mean, it’s Dolly Fucking Parton’s house. It’s surely imbued with magic that transcends the unfortunate furniture choices. Check out a few more pics after the jump… Keep reading »
“People said the other day that the reason [I] wear sleeves is that [I] have snake tattoos all over you, and I said, ‘No, I don’t.’ I do have a few little tattoos, but they were mostly done to cover scars because I’m so fair. So it started with that, and I’m not really one to have tattoos, but I do have a few and they’re not where you can see them. They’re mostly for my husband.”
–Dolly Parton cleared up those crazy rumors that she’s secretly covered in more ink than a Hell’s Angel on “The Today Show” this week, and it turns out the truth is a little less crazy than the rumor, but still highly entertaining and SO Dolly-esque. Dolly admitted she does have some secret tattoos, but they’re all small and mainly exist for the benefit of her hubby of nearly 50 years, Carl Thomas Dean. Now we can only dream of what that tattoos might be… [Us Weekly]
