Did you force your dad to build you a dollhouse when you were a kid? Because I did. He built me one from scratch, but we never got around to painting it, or buying it any furniture. So instead, my Barbies lived in a very, very minimalist Victorian house. It’s nothing like the life-size dollhouse that Canadian artist Heather Benning created in Saskatchewan, Canada. She took an abandoned farmhouse and transformed it into the picture of pastel doll perfection, complete with rooms full of vintage furniture and pastel paint. [Stylist]

Welcome To The Demented Dollhouse

Check out French artist, Marc Giai-Miniet’s, series of demented dollhouses for the maudlin child. I would have been the target market when I was five. Instead of arranging and rearranging my dolls in their house, I used to decorate it with already been chewed gum to make the house look “grosser.” The signs were always there. Gosh, I would have loved to have owned this one. It gets more disturbing as you descend. And look at all those dusty books. The possibilities would have been endless.
