A friend of mine took this picture at the American Ale House in State College, PA, and all I can say is I 100 percent understand the sentiment. I used to DJ pretty regularly, and people would come up to me all the time with requests. Sometimes they were nice, and sometimes they were pushy (a rock and punk DJ is probably never ever going to play that dubstep jam you really like). And sometimes — a lot of the time — they requested Michael Jackson. One time, a girl came up to me and requested a Guns ‘N’ Roses song and offered me $25 to play it. People are crazy (and really like to throw their money around).
But really, lay off the “Margaritaville,” okay?
Is there anything more frightening than seeing monstrosity Teresa Giudice, she of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” abomination, posing behind a DJ deck? Can you imagine the horrible music she’s fake-playing right about now? In reality, Giudice was the paid hostess for a party at Gypsies, the nightclub of the Mount Airy Casino.
But sadly, the rest of the stars in this gallery have actually attempted to play DJ for real.
Everything we learn about model/TV presenter/Madewell designer Alexa Chung just makes us like her more. Take the story she told Jimmy Fallon about her DJ skills. Alexa admitted that she doesn’t so much DJ as burn a couple of CDs with her favorite songs and then pretend to be confidently mixing the songs. And if that fails, she just pretends to walk down an imaginary set of stairs. [Fashionista]
