10 Disney Park Confessions That Made Us Do A Double Take

“Disney Park Confessions” is a Tumblr blog documenting, well, confessions about Disney theme parks. When I first heard about it, I assumed there would be a lot of people admitting to doing naughty stuff in the Epcot bathrooms, but most of the confessions are a lot more innocent–and a lot weirder–than that. Click through for a roundup of some of my favorites… [Disney Park Confessions]

We may be a little old to go see Disney movies by ourselves (although not too old to belt out “Part Of Your World” the shower). But we’ll be dragging the nearest seven-year-old to drag to a theater and to see “Brave,” Pixar’s newest computer-animated film with a female protagonist. Lots of Disney flicks star princesses who are sweet, passive, and looking for love; “Brave” stars a spunky gal who is a skilled archer and not content with the life her parents want for her. Princess Merida lives in the Scottish highlands and defies her parents wishes and insists on following her own path in life. Pixar has released a three-minute clip from “Brave” (longer than the teaser trailer they released before) and we have to say we’re digging it! Anyone down for a mass-Frisky reader movie-going trip? It took 17-year-old singer Heather Traska 86 days, over 30 costume changes, and a month of editing to put together this video, which is surely the most epic a capella Disney medley ever. “Mulan,” “Aladdin,” “The Lion King,” “Pocahontas,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” — they’re all here. I was giggling with glee throughout the whole thing, and I’m guessing you will too. Another guess: this won’t be the last we hear from the talented Ms. Traska. [YouTube]

Brenda Song Must Be Really Happy About … Something

Brenda Song, Disney star and almost-baby-mama for Miley Cyrus’s tattooed bro Trace, must be real jazzed about something, and she wants to share it with the whole friggin’ world. That’s the only logical reason for this absolutely atrocious smiley face poncho. Geez, Ms. Song, try and be considerate – people are going to have to look at you. [World of Wonder]

Demi Lovato Furious Over Disney Anorexia Joke

Z100's Jingle Ball '11 Official Kick Off Party

After battling anorexia, singer/actress Demi Lovato is furious her former boss, the Disney Channel, joked about the eating disorder on a TV show. A character on the program Shake It Up said recently: “I could just eat you up. Well, if I ate.” Lovato responded in an incensed, all-capitals tweet. “I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actresses from the pressures of an eating disorder, and yet still make jokes about that very disease,” she wrote, referring to her own exit from a Disney series. “Eating disorders are not something to joke about,” she added. Brace Yourselves For Yet Another Disney Princess

Sofia the First photo

You know what little girls don’t have enough of? PRINCESSES. The scarcity of doe-eyes, glass slippers, and pink frilly dresses is truly criminal. But children need not suffer anymore: Disney is introducing a new princess marketed towards two- to seven-year-olds. “Sofia The First,” a red-haired princess in an elegant purple gown, is getting her own TV movie and TV series that will air on both Disney Channel and Disney Junior. But Sofia is noteworthy not just ’cause she is a princess — because she is a girl princess. Up until now, all Disney princesses (like Jasmine, Snow White and Cinderella) have been adult women. Hopefully this means Sofia is concerned with something more important than scoring a ring from Prince Charming?  [NY Times] Keep reading »
